We got conned in a pretty big way. They got more from them liking him in the draft process than he has shown in Carolina. The Panthers actually got less for Diontae Johnson.

I'm 10000% sure they justified the price by McClay arguing that we had him graded as a 2nd rounder just 18 months ago (which is fair), and Stephen arguing that it gives us a rookie deal potential starter for two more years.

I like Mingo fine but a 4th when we're going to end up 6-11 is ridiculous and just another example of how this organization operates like a hermit kingdom.

At the very least we aren't giving up picks for a 2024 rental, which would be the absolute dumbest thing.

Mingo is at least theoretically a piece for the future even if it's an overpay.

But how can you always use that logic? I bet they had Johnny Manziel and Josh Rosen as first or seconds also. Does that mean trading anything less than that for them would make trading for them a good deal?
