During covid when the cap actually went down it threw a lot of teams into trouble.
That was a severe outlier.

I'd imagine cap goes up 10s of millions every year now that streaming services are paying 9 figures for one game.

I wish the Dallas media had the guts to grill Jerry over this bullshit.
They have already denied the culture stuff.

Absolutely, it only went down because covid screwed up attendance. That's something that has never happened before in my lifetime.

This has always been a thing with fans and I fail to understand why it is still a thing.

Jones has real power in the NFL and people need just to admit the reality is that some wormy journalist from the DMN or whatever who is earning shit is not going to stand up to one of the richest men on the planet, much less a guy who is a league kingpin.

It is dumb to expect that from anybody in media. They would rather take the other road, which is promote his product.

We can all sit here and bitch to our hearts content. And yeah, the media dorks don't deliver.

But they are bought and paid for and some of them are in an industry that has no future.

Rant off.

He'll note that we've won 12 games three years in a row and something like this isn't an impediment to winning.

Instead of drafting based on RAS, they should focus on finding stone cold killers who have the ability to play in this circus environment.

According to this it's more like a zoo with little Timmy taping on the glass of the cobra enclosure.

Whatever it is, I think it is safe to say it is probably unique in the NFL.

You have to put every attribute you draft for behind finding psychopaths that aren't affected by the distractions and pressure of playing for the Dallas Cowboys.

It hasn't always been this way, though. Sure, the on-site reporters can't go too ballistic, but there used to be hostile :unsure columnists who called Jerry out.

And it wasn't all that long ago.

Exactly. Why would anyone seriously bite the hand that ultimately feeds them?

Better to go with the flow. Be critical enough to still be called a journalist but not overly so and never insulting.

Sell papers, get clicks, keep your access and your job.

I put more stock in this tweet, even if I think there are culture issues.

I'm sure she does, sort of. I've heard her talk about how she calls people in the organization and hits them up for info. But for the most part she seems to be wrong a lot with her predictions about what's going on with the Cowboys. I always wonder how much is made up for TV and how much is just someone giving her a random name to appease her because she is calling them up for info.
