Supposedly we work a ton on this stuff in camp. Then the season hits and nothing. My guess is McCarthy just isn't comfortable and reverts back to what he knows best. In the heat of the moment I think his brain tends to go blank.
I think it's Dak reverting. This WCO integration has been so slight, not a makeover. There's a reason for that.

My theory, they're too stuck on what Dak is comfortable with. And that's still the staples of the old Garrett/Kellen stuff. How many times do we hear the game commentators talk about how Dak is in total control of everything?

And remember the Romo-friendly days... When Jerry pays a QB this much, he expects them to have a lot of say.
I think the real reason is that McCarthy is stuck on how he designs offenses and isn't able to incorporate all of that stuff on the fly to the same extent that someone who "grew up" in a Shannahan-type offense would.

The biggest tell to me is the run game and meshing that with the pass game/play action, that's where the Shannahan influence really shows up.

This is my thought. When the pressure hits he sort of runs out of ideas and reverts to the basic plays he has called forever.

Do you think Dak is calling his own plays? Or just audibling out of motion? I just don't see that as likely.
No, I think he has a huge hand in the installation process. They try, and even install, all these things but then pare it down to what the QB is comfortable with.

Yeah I definitely do not think that's the case. I will 100% say I don't think Dak is uncomfortable with motion, play action or screens. That stuff makes life easier for Dak. That's the easy stuff to do that I think every NFL QB would want. Hell motion doesn't even really change the plays Dak is running. It just gives the offense an advantage. One that I know Dak has talked about enjoying.

So Dak wants it, and Jerry wants what Dak wants, but McCarthy and Schottenheimer just refuse to do it? That's what I don't believe.

The tweet also mentioned mesh concepts -- I remember last year when we finally integrated some of that, which Garrett/Kellen basically never did. So it's not like the OCs can't put it in.

The whole offensive design is broken. The blocking is not good, the receivers are pedestrian outside of Lamb when he is not sulking and the backs are as bad as we had in the first season of Jerry Jones' ownership.
That’s a god awful statistic for this team to own…100% right booze.. the offense is broken . Obviously nothing is disguised well… Defenses are easily picking up on our tendencies…I said it and I’ll say it 1000 times .. we need to stop hiring fossils !!! This team continually stays behind in the times. And to think we’ve won all these games with a broken system and surviving on talent alone is nothing short of a miracle .

That’s complete garbage.
Micah is a freakin monster …. The dude is clearly mugged on most plays ( all uncalled ) and still produces some pressures . If the league would give him a fair shake you would see a huge difference. So if the league decides that holding Parsons is A-ok … of course there’s going to be a drop in impact plays .

I don't think they refuse to do it. It's in the playbook. But the plays aren't scripted for the entire game. It's on McCarthy to actually call them.
