My guess is Vrabel sits out a year or takes a HC job elsewhere. I doubt he's in a hurry to be a DC again.

Bilichick needed to be let go because the NFL is a what have you done lately System. In some ways he and Tom Landry are parallel in their performances. Laundry's career was on the rocks and he would not have lasted as long as he did in today’s system. Jerry Jones was a scapegoat in that process but I think the primary reason the Cowboys won the Super Bowls in the 90s was because Landry was put to pasture and new blood was injected in the game.

It's almost like it shouldn't be happening in any scenario.
When people talk about systemic racism this is what it feels like. I mean why is it that we have to talk about the color of Mayo's skin. We are talking about a team being "punished" for developing a black assistant and hiring them. I completely agree with you, policies like these really just breed racism. The Pat's aren't being punished, they are picking the guy that they have been grooming for this position. Who cares if he is black, white, Asian or something else? But now we think in terms of hey, hire the black guy for draft picks. That is exactly systemic racism isn't it?
