2024 3rd Round Pick - Marist Liufau, LB, Notre Dame

We usually make our head scratcher in the 2nd round. This year we waited until the late 3rd.

I keep hearing apologists for this reach say he is a “nickel linebacker who can rush”.

That is nice but tell me the last guy who actually did that well?

Yeah I can't defend it. I would have been great with the guy in the fifth. And Lloyd in the third. But I just don't love him enough for where we took him. Admittedly I'm no expert on the guy. He was a day three LBer so I only watched some highlights casually.

Lots of players I love left. Really wish we had some picks in the fourth. Not just RBs either. WRs, corners, and safeties. We just don't have the luxury left.

Or even a pick for say Gabe Hall who really intrigues me as a 6'6" 290 pound guy.

That's my problem, I'd bust a nut for Allen, Estime or Wright. But that's just not likely.

When I nicknamed this guy Loofa I had never even seen a picture of him. I was just going off his name. But, now that I have seen a picture of him he does actually look like a loofa. Yeah, this nickname is sticking.
