This is exactly right, he isn't protecting that inside at all. And I agree, it's either because the leg is hurt, the brace is messing with his mobility, or he just doesn't trust the leg yet. Either way it is a problem that has to be figured out. Otherwise every team is going to start doing this. Have a speedy guy start outside and then cut inside. It's an easy consistent win against him right now. It didn't matter which Eagles defender did it, they all succeeded easily.

If we take one it better be in the first. Our track record in the second and beyond is terrible.
Eh I think Asim is going to be a really good player here. I even think Bass is going to be a really good lineman here. Yes, I know technically one wasn't drafted. But I think we did better last year on the O-line with day three prospects then we have in a long time. We just need to get away from drafting the freaky long odd balls. Guys like Waletzko and Ball are where we are going wrong. And those dudes are just built weird. I hope I'm wrong on them but I don't think I am.

@Simpleton or anyone who has watched the all-22... I assume Steele's leg is a huge reason why we can't run block either? He and Martin were devastating run blockers on that side before, and I assume the injuries to both of them are a big problem going straight ahead, not just pass blocking.

So I said back in training camp that the reporters were overly positive about Steeles full recovery . They raved about him getting back to full strength in the offseason. Turns out he’s more like Gallup than they thought . He’s but a shell of his pre injury self . His leg was injured pretty badly, and then Mr 24/7/365 signs him to a fat deal before the results are solidified.
Thats financial idiocy.

I never see any quotes or explanations from Steele. Certainly reporters are asking him questions after the game. Is he just saying "no comment"?

After an early season game Eagles saw they had an issue at safety. So they went out and traded for one. Now. Today. They didn't wait

SF's defense was faltering. So they went out and traded for Chase Young, Now. Today. They didn't wait.

Will those trades work out? Time will tell. But the point is they didn't sit on their hands waiting for next year's draft.

Too late to engineer a trade to replace Steele now. But with Tyron Smith getting hurt every time he gets out of bed and Steele a worthless turnstile, it could prove to be a very long season.

This is the kind of shit a pro-active front office recognizes and does whatever it can to fix. Now. Not next year.

Of course, when your team hasn't won shit for 27 years, what's one more?

Good luck waiting for them to be proactive.

Correct, there is an entire generation or two that basically think the Cowboys are equivalent to the Bengals and Lions. Those championships are ancient fucking history.

That's true. But then, at some point, if Jerry and the Idiot Son aren't trying everything possible to compete, why do I give a shit what happens on Sunday? (I've asked myself that for the last several years.)

My attitude last Sunday was pretty much what it's been for a long time, kind of like boozeman said. Turn on the TV, big game against the Eagles. Sit back, relax, expect the worst. When the worst happens, what else is new? It won't change this season, it won't change next season. Move on to other phases of your life.

It's all split-second, slam-bang, high-speed shit with guys flying in every direction. And yet the refs are supposed to make the perfect call.
It wasn’t split second when they watched the replay and slowed things down enough to see the ball being 6 inches short yet they somehow miss the fact that he’s being tackled before the ball got there?

One other thing to consider. Mike Fisher pointed out that he didn’t have full possession until the ball crossed the plain. I’m not certain but with the play slowed down, you’d think they would decide that as well.

Bengals won two playoff games last year, lost the AFCC game by a whisker. That's so far ahead of where the Cowboys have been for a quarter century. No comparison.

I'm a little tired of the "he doesn't suck, he's just not healthy" excuse. People ran it out with Gallup last year too.

There's really no difference. You either perform or you don't. If you don't, whatever the reason is, is an excuse.

Don't play him if he can't perform. It doesn't matter why.
