Since we might be staring a good TE dead in the face at 26, we have to discuss it.

I like Ferguson a lot. But, like Bill Parcells used to say under his breath, you can never have enough TEs.

All I know is that I have a serious crush on Washington and his ability to function as a blocker.

Picking a TE there is risky and a little indulgent.

But I feel like indulging.

~covering nephew's eyes~
It is too late.

It is like how it once was.

A nephew saw what appeared to be a dong in what really was just Chad Hutchinson's inner palm.

It has to start somewhere.

There's no saving the child anyway, he's too far gone.

Space eater NTs are not for every defense.

I think he could last into the late second, maybe even the third.
He is going to be one of those guys who slips bad on draft day and Ravi is going to be going absolutely nuts as we pass on him 2 or 3 times.

And then the Ravens will take him in the fourth.

I am learning not to love the fat guys too much.

What is interesting though is that you see free agency swinging that way.

Guys like Andrew Billings, Greg Gaines and others are getting nice contracts.

I realize it is hard to commit a premium pick to a two-down lineman.

But if you get a guy that can stretch to three downs like a Vea, it can be a difference maker.

I just don't think he is going to be that type.

A dominant DT would be great, fat or not.

Well of course.

I just don't think we need to pretend that guys like Kancey and Mazi Smith are that guy in this draft.

Hell, if things were in a vacuum, I would seriously consider taking the Northwestern kid in the first. He's got what David Irving couldn't harness.

Kancey is better than the Northwestern kid. Combine numbers be damned. Just watch the two play.

Mazi I really like though too. So hush it on him. I think he is better than you're giving credit. I also like Benton. Who I think as a second round pick is a NT with some pop and quickness to be more than a NT. And I do really like Ika, but I think he more of a 2 down guy who has a long career in the NFL.

You are completely wrong on all counts and I just don’t have the energy to discuss further. Good day, sir!

I don't mind it but I'd prefer to go elsewhere, Mayer has been and will be my favorite without question, but Washington is such a rare blocker along with freak potential as a receiver that I kind of just want to roll the dice and see if we could build a special running game.

I'll say this, McCarthy talks alot about how he builds his running games from the edge out and how important it is to control the edge with your TE, I wouldn't be shocked if we went Washington for that reason.

:lol

I watched Big Ten okay! The Northwestern kid has potential but he is no Kancey. I usually tend to favor the Big Ten guys because I watched them more.

Put LaPorta on the chart!!!

Mayer has so many numbers the Cowboys won't like. Slow, small wingspan, not explosive. But very productive.

I made an effort to watch him and while he seems to win the first step, that is it. His power is not like Donald.
