That's fair enough. Just think it's a dumb point to make that Mayer is by far better because a good number of teams have him as their top TE. But I disagree with Broaddus about much of what he has to say. What I'm saying is it's a dumb concept to assume that because some teams rank a guy in a certain spot that it's accurate. I was trying to point out that most teams have sucked at ranking TEs. So telling me that player A is significantly better than player B because that's how teams have them ranked is flawed logic to me. Escobar was just an example of how teams suck at judging these guys.To the first point, that's like equating us taking Joey Porter Jr. if he were to fall and disparaging the choice by saying "well they thought Kelvin Joseph was what they wanted at CB too".
At least that comparison would be tied to a recent pick and the current coaching staff, and not one from 10 years ago and a different staff, but it's a ridiculous comparison either way.
Plenty of examples since the 2013 draft when Kelce went after a multitude of worse TEs including Escobar.
