Sam Williams has already done more than most of those busts. Maybe not more than Gregory but he had some moments here eventually. I guess Jaylon Smith did have his moments too. The end was just so bad.4 of 9.
Minus Sam Williams because it's too soon to tell. 4 solid NFL players out of 9?
Not good enough by far.
Hopefully they wait til the 5th or beyond for such a project.I wonder who our injured reclamation project will be this year.
I'm ok with the USC guard in the fifth. Andrew Vorhees tore his ACL at the Combine. Redshirt him and add strength for a year.Hopefully they wait til the 5th or beyond for such a project.
DeMarcus II
Lawrence obviously but if excluding him, Awuzie or Sam Williams.
The formations were built around enabling him to run in a straight line without turning sharplyAs much as we hate on #54, that 2018 season saw some pretty good LB play with he and rookie LVE.
Gibbs is the home run hitter, while Robinson has rare jump cut and lateral movement skills. Both have great vision.Could just be the fact that most things nowadays are over hyped due to the nature of media and our society. Gotta instill a sense of urgency/immediacy.
Zero lateral mobility. The formations were built around enabling him to run in a straight line without turning sharply
Needless to say rest of the NFL caught on while simultaneously Smith’s instincts for any other kind of play atrophied
Safety is an interesting one if Branch is available.
Goof Son quote on 105.3.
You have Micah and Fowler and Demarcus Lawrence. Let's say you have a Nolan Smith sitting there in this draft. Would you want to add more to this current pass rush?"
"It goes back to... and certainly this has nothing to do with a specific player... this is a position, just a general philosophy of ours... is that's where you always do well, picking the very best player on your board and you just... from contracts that'll be coming up, injuries, all the things that are not foreseen, you know, to to pass on a player if you're sitting there picking and he's the best player on your board by a long shot, then I think that's where you can make your biggest mistakes. I don't think you say, 'Boy we've got five safeties that we love,' 'Boy, we got six pass rushers that we really like on our football team so we're just not even gonna grade the pass rushers this year because we don't need one.' That's just not how this works, and, boy, if we see a pass rusher that we think is unique that can really bring value to the table, drafting young guys who are going to be, you know, going to be around for four years, five years, you can't go wrong drafting players that you feel like can make a big difference on your football team, whether it's a pass rush or whether it's a safety, a corner, a quarterback. All those are situations where if you feel like they're great football players and the best player on your board then you have to stay with that now."
I would be upset. Branch is a nice nice safety but we just signed Donovan Wilson and Kearse still has a year left.Safety is an interesting one if Branch is available.
I agree, I'm just saying it's interesting to me that he mentioned safety and a guy like Branch who could potentially be the BPA could easily drop to us.I would be upset. Branch is a nice nice safety but we just signed Donovan Wilson and Kearse still has a year left.
We are not yet to the point we can start drafting for 2024....not with a first round pick. This roster is not yet that fortified.
Now some of the other guys like Skinner, Dean, Jay Ward, Chamarri Connor and Ronnie Hickman make more sense as fifths or later.
Plus I thought they liked Coyle and Bell's potential?
Thing is, I think Quinn is a bit of a safety whore. He got the Falcons to take Keanu Neal at 17.
Somebody made that impression on him because you know damn good and well he didn't come up with it on his own.I agree, I'm just saying it's interesting to me that he mentioned safety and a guy like Branch who could potentially be the BPA could easily drop to us.
Perhaps you are right.I think he mentioned safety because that was the first position where we don't need anyone that came into his head.
Fuck, Goof is right."It goes back to... and certainly this has nothing to do with a specific player... this is a position, just a general philosophy of ours... is that's where you always do well, picking the very best player on your board and you just... from contracts that'll be coming up, injuries, all the things that are not foreseen, you know, to to pass on a player if you're sitting there picking and he's the best player on your board by a long shot, then I think that's where you can make your biggest mistakes.
