There is a 100000% chance that we'd take him if he's there unless some other crazy shit also happened in parallel, like Broderick Jones also dropping to 26.
Yeah, this is exactly right. There is no way the Cowboys and Jerry would pass up the chance to add a real star RB in the first. No matter what you think of Bijan or the idea of taking a RB in the first round, the truth is Bijan is a big name RB who the Cowboys won't pass on after letting Zeke go.

This is all true. We all want to be proactive and draft guys before the hole is there. We did that last year in drafting Ferguson. It was the right approach and now you want the young guy to step into that role.
Yeah, Schultz himself was a 4th round pick and a similar player to Ferguson who was a 5th rounder and could just as easily have gone in the 4th.

You don't have to replace a player when they leave. Good teams will already have folks in the pipeline like Ferguson or Hendershot.

That said, if a transcendent talent at TE falls to you, well sure you take him. But that guy isn't in this draft

1. First thing he mentions is how hard it is to find a blocker. (Mayer or Washington?)

2. Pumping up Martellus Bennett. :doh

Washington is very Bennett like. Which may sound bad but he had some good years after leaving here and was a great blocker.

I wonder why Romo never really even tried with Martellus.

Was it because he thought he was being disrespectful to Witten?

Washington seems more athletic, more of a big play threat. If he's no better a receiver than Bennett, no way I want him at 26.

I think he is a better athlete. Although I don't think Washington looks as athletic as he tests on tape. But yeah, I think 700-900 receiving yard seasons are probably a best case scenario for Washington in the NFL. Which is what Marty B did with the Bears and Pats. While also being a 6'6" 270 pound great blocker.

But yeah, I'm with you in that I'd lean away from TE in the first. I think your odds of finding a legit 1000 yard TE in the first are pretty unlikely. Those guys are just very rare in the NFL.

No damn TEs until at least the third.

I think it's just difficult to feed 2 TEs the ball on offense. Only so many TE balls to realistically go around and those went to Witten. We all have a worse opinion on Bennett because of his low amount of receiving plays in Dallas. But in fairness when he wasn't stuck under Witten he actually played pretty well for other teams.

Bennett might have worked out were it not for Garrett’s fucking brother huffing and puffing in his ear.

Witten was a nag cunt.
