It is being a bit dramatic to say all of these coaches were fired. Jones hates to pay coaches for not coaching and that is why you tend to see them fade away versus get outright shitcanned.
Yeah its funny how no one technically gets fired. Their contract just expires and they aren't rehired. My guess is a lot of this has to do with our uncertainty at both coordinator spots. You have a new defensive coordinator he may want some of his guys. Same with a new offensive coordinator.

All it means is we probably aren't promoting any coordinators from within.

While that's true, it's not like they can just not replace the OL coach, so you're going to have to pay somebody. Why not bring these guys back if you're not dissatisfied with them?

So Clarence Hill says this Rob Davis who was McCarthy's right hand man and culture setter going back to GB is also gone. Wtf is going on?

I honestly don't feel like the SF loss should be a woodshed, heads are gonna roll game. Most of the players played well, they played hard, were prepared, didn't look flat, etc. They stood toe to toe with a really good team on the road and probably should have won if not for shitty QB play and a freak injury to your RB. All that coming off an impressive playoff beat down of their first round opponent.

I wouldn't think any of that warrants wholesale changes to the coaching staff.

To be clear, I'm not including Moore in this because that's a fundamental issue in scheme and I'd like to see Moore replaced with someone who runs a modern offense. But none of the rest of the coaches strike me as a problem.

Anen, Geng. Well said.

Is this being done by Jerry to assuage stupid fans who think a high school team dressed up in Cowboys uniforms should win the Super Bowl, and if they don't heads should roll? I do see that kind of stupidity around the innernets.

I doubt they'll get rid of McCarthy this year but with Payton seemingly preferring to go back to TV they could be setting the stage for him in 2024.

Yeah, could this be a little like when Wade wanted Mike Solari for OL coach and Jerry hired Garrett's choice instead because he knew Garrett would be head coach soon enough?

God I hope not. :doh

It is all very strange, I didn't think much of it with guys like Peete and Philbin but Davis has been attached to the hip with McCarthy since he got to Green Bay, that's a definite red flag.

I guess the other possibility is making Quinn the HC but it's hard to see Jerry doing that since it'd basically lock him out of going after Payton for at least 2-3 years.

I agree. If anything that loss highlighted the shortcomings of the front office and Kellen Moore, as you mentioned.

But of course they'll never address their own failures. They'll just continue to issues empty apologies and trying to sell everyone on how badly they want to win, without making any actual changes to how they operate.

Hooray us. :sad

I would take Munchak, but we will likely get a Friend of Fat Mike. Campen was the guy who taught the GB lines how to get away with holding so much in the playoffs.

It shouldn't be but whatever takes the focus elsewhere I guess.

Yes.

They are not going to fire a coach that is getting all kinds of attention.

That would be a bad look.

It is all part of how Jerry Jones operates.
and we see how much love Moore is getting. Two tease interviews with Carolina, unless I missed something.
