I haven’t had any for a while either, but it’s still an impressive accomplishment.

And, Texas got its ass handed to it BADLY by a very mediocre Oklahoma team. That can’t be discounted. They had the shit beaten out of them. The beating wasn’t as close as the final score.
Ass handed to them?

We lost that game by one score..... To our biggest rival.

It wasn’t a close contest, and you know it. You got routed. The beating was worse than the score indicated. At no point in that game did I ever think that Texas was going to win. I can’t ignore that.

But again, Texas is more deserving than Alabama.

If it were up to me to pick, I’d have Texas in over Alabama. Bama shouldn’t get a pass for getting throttled at home by Texas.
I could see that. But Texas lost badly to Oklahoma where Alabama beat the Number 1 team in the country, a team on an 29 game win streak- and the eye test was that it wasn’t as close as the score indicated. They also have beaten 3 ranked teams, most notably #1. More importantly I’d argue Alabama has improved each game since the very early loss to Texas . Texas has also played lights out but that loss to Oklahoma and a resume of only beating 2 ranked teams looms big IMO.
So there’s an argument either way I think.

I dunno. Looking at the stats for that game doesn't really indicate what you're saying either. It looks like the only big outlier is the two int's by Ewers. I get that it was a bad loss. UT shouldn't have lost to them at all, but it certainly doesn't appear to have been a route. Looks like rushing yards by the QB might have been a deciding factor as well, though.

I think it should be an 8 team playoff. 12 is too many and 4 is not enough. I think 8 is the magic number.
Agree, 12 is ridiculous. No way is #12 the best team in the country. Now #8 because of injury or suspension early, could possibly be.

I might even have gone for 6 plus two byes, but they wouldn't give up two games of revenue.

And plan9 must be misremembering (Roger Clemens)... OU had to drive the field with a minute or whatever left to beat Texas.

Also... FSU I don't think should make it, but remember the year Ohio State won it with bb's boy at 3rd string QB.

Then again, the cardinal rule for the committee is there are no rules. They'll put in whoever the hell they want and try to justify it later. If they ever need a tiebreaker, always think ratings first.

Doesn’t matter…they won. And on top of that, they have FOUR wins against CFP opponents.
I’m starting to think FSU might be on the outs.
They simply don’t have the offense to play against a Michigan or Washington or Texas team. The D is there, but looking at their stats since JT went down….not good.
I could see Mich, Washington, Texas and Alabama.

Alabama probably gets in but I would rather watch Texas. Something about a QB who can't throw for shit just doesn't appeal to me. Yes he is a freak as a runner his ability to throw the ball leaves a lot to be desired. It's the reason they got so lucky to beat a shitty Auburn team. I'm not a Texas fan but their QB and WRs are fun to watch.

The decision the committee makes is going to piss somebody off and rightfully so. FSU will likely get the shit end of the stick, unless they elect to put them in to protect the rep of the ACC.

Hey Auburn, you had about a 95% chance to end all this and you failed miserably.

I don't care what anybody says about FSU being undefeated, they aren't a top 15 team in the country with their QB situation. If they let them in the playoff they're basically giving somebody a bye, that's all there is to it.

Texas, Alabama, Georgia, I don't really care, but FSU can't be in if you want the "4 best teams".

Did you even watch that game? Because it really sounds like you did not.

Nothing you've said here is even close to being accurate.

All fans agreed that it was the best RRS in years due to how competitive the game was and how both teams actually played some defense, for once.

Texas outgained OU in total yards and led that game in both the 2nd and 4th quarters.

In what world is that a "beating" that was "worse than the score indicated"?
