Last night was about the best possible scenario short of a win, which was always going to be exceedingly unrealistic without Dak.

Got down big due to a bunch of stupid mistakes/turnovers, fought back to a one-score game, and then the defense gave up a narrow drive to push it back to two scores and just out of reach.

This defense is monstrous, you just don't want them getting too high on the hog and last night will ensure that they don't even though they did mostly well considering the circumstances.

So I guess if we commit less than 10 penalties, it gets a W?

This is why I'd give up a 1 for Derrick Brown, although they converted both of those 3rd and 4's by about half a yard, doesn't take much to tip either of those plays the other way.

Notice how LVE was a non-factor on every play.

Speaking of LVE, there was a play where he blitzed up the middle, he jumped in the air and two Eagles players caught him and held him in the air. Right in the middle of the backfield.

I hope Cooper Rush never takes another snap for us. Yeah, we went 4-1 with him. Great. Awesome. But we probably would have done that with any other back up in the league. This guy isn't it. Hell, if we had a competent backup, we probably win last night, too. He's the same guy we all wanted out of here during the preseason. Our record right now is all because of the defense and special teams.

His 4-0 start this year was a mirage. A product of the defense imposing it's will on teams. He got lucky with no turnovers and having to air it out. When those showed up, the curtain was pulled back. Please go sit down now, collect your check quietly and leave in the off season.

Out of 32 teams, a great many have marginal starting QBs, let alone backups who can step in and win. It's unreasonable to believe a team—espcially one run by dumb and dumber—would have a top tier starting QB plus a guy who could come in win every game he starts. Rush is who he is—a backup you put in there and cross your fingers.

What value? The league is all about wins and losses. They don't give out trophies for moral victories. Nobody cares that you "fought hard."

Yes. Hurts had very few dropback passes last night-he didn’t need to with a 20 point lead that Cooper basically gifted them.
I don’t think the Eagles are frauds, but they are easily beaten with a good D and an offense that can put up some points.

Extreme value. Texas Tech has fought back for wins at least twice this year being down at least 10 in the second half. There is a huge amount of value in your players buying into the coaches and fighting for their lives during the games.

Call it silver lining or what, but I think it kind of sets up well for the Eagles to be the darlings this year. We all know this franchise fails when it's being told how great it is week after week. Beating all those bad teams and coasting to the division win last year didn't end well. Now the Eagles are going to be ahead of them, so we'll have to be in chase mode all (or most of) the year.

But, there is still value in a team not quitting. A lot of value. And that is the point.

Well I'm convinced now. When we got down 20-0 we should've just quit and lost 70-0 instead of trying. No difference either way.

Name me a guy that’s starting that you’d start Rush over. I can’t think of any.
