Bottom line, Emmitt ran right at and through the toughest defenses in the NFL. Everyone knew he was getting the football, and they still couldn’t stop him.

And when they took him out, the entire offense stalled.

Just watch 1991 Week 2 MNF for evidence of this. Emmitt is flat out torturing Washington, and Troy is hitting Novacek at will because Alvin Walton can’t both cover him and look into the backfield.

After Emmitt leaves the game with dehydration, we disappear. Hell he scores his second TD while dehydrated.
