True story. Especially on this board.
Do the Cowboys suck? Of course not.
But the reason why these types of performances cause more pessimism when it comes to the Cowboys is because they serve as reminders of their poor playoff history since the turn of the century.
We all WANT to believe that this team can be different and can do what all the others before them have failed to do, and that is to go on a winning streak in the playoffs.
And that can't happen until they win those high pressure games to start the postseason -- something they've failed to do 6 out of the 8 times they've made to the playoffs in the last 22 years.
And what is the reoccurring theme in those losses? Slow starts where they looked unprepared. And when you see games like yesterday or the Green Bay loss a few weeks ago, it gives you that bad feeling that this team still isn't ready to overcome those things because those same ugly habits continue to linger.
That's why KC having a bad day vs a bad team doesn't hurt your opinion of them as it does when the Cowboys do the same.
These Cowboys have to earn that benefit of doubt and they've done nothing to do so in recent memory, so the negative "overreactions" to games like yesterday's will continue.
