Talk about being backed up.27 years without making it past the divisional round of the playoffs will do that to a man.

The sad thing is that I don't think signing OBJ is a good idea but I'm so desperate that I want it to happen anyway.
I'm not worried about the mechanical fit on the team, he'd be at best a "2.5" alongside Gallup. So long as everyone understand OBJ is a third WR on this team. He will make spot plays that help us here and there, but he is like three stints past his prime.
If everyone gets that, I’m fine.
Another potential botheration point would be upsetting the way right now people are leaving the Cowboys alone in terms of hype. 3rd best team in the NFC they say.
I’m really good with that notion. Stay serious and one game at a time.
But an OBJ signing sends the hype train into overdrive and this team would immediately start licking its own cream poising for another colossal playoff flameout.
You and me both. Jerry might not be able to help himself. I think he’s long become addicted to the hype and attention and winning be damned. The unnecessary hype would probably be my biggest concern.
My only real concern is that the Cowboys would abandon some of the multiple TE stuff they are doing in favor of 3 WR sets. If you keep the same offense but rotate Beckham in with Gallup and Lamb and I think it has no downside.I'm not worried about the mechanical fit on the team, he'd be at best a "2.5" alongside Gallup.

Would OBJ understand that? I can't imagine it.So long as everyone understand OBJ is a third WR on this team.
I think this is the answer. People are barely noticing how the Cowboys dropped 49 on the Bears, but yeah that happened, and Dallas seemed to barely exert itself in the process. And I for one think we do have something to lose, because I think this team can at least get to the conference championship just the way it is, and maybe more.

I'm happy for Smith but I'm not counting on him for anything. And honestly, even once he is healthy enough to play football I'm not jacking with Tyler Smith in December right before the playoffs. That would be dumb.
This is exactly right. So, prepare yourself for them to rush him back for no reason at all.I'm happy for Smith but I'm not counting on him for anything. And honestly, even once he is healthy enough to play football I'm not jacking with Tyler Smith in December right before the playoffs. That would be dumb.
so what to do with Tyron?I'm happy for Smith but I'm not counting on him for anything. And honestly, even once he is healthy enough to play football I'm not jacking with Tyler Smith in December right before the playoffs. That would be dumb.
Let him coach up the OL from the sidelines.so what to do with Tyron?
Let him be a backup LT in case of injury if he is willing. If not just leave on IR.so what to do with Tyron?
