Why would people not want to sign him? Is it not the general consensus that we aren't winning anything anyway? And that's WITHOUT him. Maybe by some miracle he helps push us over the hump, and we can make some noise in the playoffs WITH him. So basically, if we weren't going to win anyway, what do we have to lose? I say sign him.

So long as everyone understand OBJ is a third WR on this team. He will make spot plays that help us here and there, but he is like three stints past his prime.

If everyone gets that, I’m fine.

Another potential botheration point would be upsetting the way right now people are leaving the Cowboys alone in terms of hype. 3rd best team in the NFC they say.

I’m really good with that notion. Stay serious and one game at a time.

But an OBJ signing sends the hype train into overdrive and this team would immediately start licking its own cream poising for another colossal playoff flameout.

I'm not worried about the mechanical fit on the team, he'd be at best a "2.5" alongside Gallup.

The unnecessary hype would probably be my biggest concern.

You and me both. Jerry might not be able to help himself. I think he’s long become addicted to the hype and attention and winning be damned.

We’ve missed playing meaningful games so many years in a row his brain is just permanently routed to generate attention in hopes of remaining relevant.

My only real concern is that the Cowboys would abandon some of the multiple TE stuff they are doing in favor of 3 WR sets. If you keep the same offense but rotate Beckham in with Gallup and Lamb and I think it has no downside.

Would OBJ understand that? I can't imagine it.

Someone at the zzzone had a good point... espn's doc/physical therapist was saying no WR has successfully been himself again after an acl revision. Reconstructing the reconstruction isn't nearly as successful as the original repair. So we might be putting all this focus on a guy who isn't the player we remember anyway.

And I for one think we do have something to lose, because I think this team can at least get to the conference championship just the way it is, and maybe more.

I think this is the answer. People are barely noticing how the Cowboys dropped 49 on the Bears, but yeah that happened, and Dallas seemed to barely exert itself in the process.

Drop 40+ on Green Bay and heads will turn with the hype machine cranking up to 11 like it always does with this team.

I’m hoping Micah, Q, and MM can lead Dallas through it.

Parsons has like a 26 point lead over #2.

I'm happy for Smith but I'm not counting on him for anything. And honestly, even once he is healthy enough to play football I'm not jacking with Tyler Smith in December right before the playoffs. That would be dumb.
This is exactly right. So, prepare yourself for them to rush him back for no reason at all.
