While I totally understand "going for it" and all that when the NFC seems down, I just can't be confident this ends well. Sure he's talented, but he's a major diva also. A classic Jerry signing just like TO, thinking the talent is all that matters and chemistry is overrated. That has to scare the bejeezus out of people. I know it does me.
I think he's mellowed out a good bit with everything that happened last year (being cut by Cleveland, going to a winning environment with the Rams, winning the Super Bowl but tearing his ACL in the process), plus he's 30 now.

He supposedly wants to be somewhere that he can settle so I think he'll be on his best behavior and we have a strong locker room in the first place.

I'd still only give him a 1-2 year deal, or at least a deal you can easily get out of after 1-2 years so you can eject if needed, but I think he'll be fine.

This is happening, isn't it?
I sure hope so.

The guy isn't going to be a problem.

IMO, this is a low risk high reward move.

You can't bitch all day about the Cowboys not making a move in a potential SB season and then get upset when they do.

Even Terrell Owens worked out for 2 seasons, so I'm sure this guy will be fine for at least the rest of this year.

I know it's possible he won't be the guy from before, but what if he is?

If ever there was a time to take a risk and go for it, it's now.

Get him in here.

How much longer does he have on his injury rehab?

I read it wouldn't be until December.
So, he is going to just be getting acclimated just before the playoffs? Not sure how much that helps us this year.

I'm sure they can sign him earlier. That was just when they expect him to be able to play.

I knew I had that somewhere.

This articles actually mentions Jay Glazer saying he'd be cleared soon:

It has both dates. Guessing it's cleared to practice and cleared for game??

While I think most of us don’t think he is worth the headache we would like to see the team at least give the appearance of trying to make an improvement outside of the draft.

this move costs the team nothing but cap space that they have plenty of.

The definition of low risk.
