There was time to run another play, without calling the timeout. Which is what I would have done. You can use the whole field that way.
Exactly, we should have at least tried the sidelines for one damn play to get Greg closer. You have the fucking TO, so at least try to get closer, and if you don't complete it the clock stops and you have to kick from the same place, but at least fucking try.

I agree, they should have but I think there was some fear of a mistake rushing the play. I would have reserved that run to Pollard for a later though. Throw two passes. If you complete it you get more yards and use the time out. If you don't complete it you don't hurt yourself on the clock.

But all ended well. It's kind of crazy that both teams moved the ball so well and only 37 points were scored.

Of course our fukup before half could have easily cost us more points and an easy and comfortable win.

I am starting to get concerned with Dak acting like Romo running the clock down with last minute adjustments
I think we were trying to rest the defense because we were so thin. Against the Bucs we ran pretty up tempo trying to score fast and furious.

198 total rushing yards

Zeke 16 for 71
Pollard 13 for 109
CeeDee for 13
Cedric for 5

Take away the 48 yards end-of-half for Dak and he only had 22/26 for 189 yards passing.

Eeesh. what do you make of that?

What if we get one of those phantom holding calls?

We won.

In the end, we won. I’m not gonna sit here and throw a tantrum over a game we walked away from with a win. Against a pretty good team, in their house, while missing a bunch of starters.

Games are won and lost on some strange shit every week. We witnessed that just last week, with the refs making sure they were involved. On to the eagles.
Game winning drive on the road against a team I think will be in the playoffs. Can't really be that upset. Our team will get better and we ran the ball a million times better today.

I want it known, had the refs not called that bullshit DPI in the 2nd quarter, this game most likely isn't even this close. We would have gotten the ball and stopped what ended up being a TD, Bare minimum a 7 point swing.

That may have been in the back of McCarthy's mind.

Last week we gave up sacks and had an OL penalty by Williams that knocked us out of FG range. Couple that with the sack Dak took in the 3rd qtr that killed a scoring drive and I guess you can make an argument that he just didn't trust his team to not screw it up.....again.

Wow. Jamal Adams with the roughing passer call when ball was incomplete on 3rd going to 4th down.

Micah Parsons was special today, this would be like if Bobby Wagner or Fred Warner or some such just all of a sudden moved to edge rusher and consistently got pressure and a handful of QB hits, and a sack (but not really).

The Storm guy at RT is pretty shit but still, he's an RT in the NFL against a guy who was drafted to play LB.

Parsons was our best pass rusher today. No question.

You have to try to get more yards there, regardless. To even approach it any other way is ridiculous. I am glad we won. We should have tried one more play before we set up for a 56 yarder. a 56 yarder.

No ‘eeesh’ about it. Different team, different game plan. I have ZERO problem with those numbers.

We went into this game with our 3rd or 4th tackle starting, going up against one of the best pass rushing DEs in the NFL. Does that tell you we should have thrown the ball 50+ times? It sure as hell doesn’t tell me that.

If it was a sloppy or ugly win, I would completely agree with you.

These guys are not machines and expecting them to be perfect all of the time just isn't realistic.

My concern is that what we saw out there today wasn't necessarily correctable things. There was deliberate intent with how the cowboys staff coached today's game and it worries me that they could coach like this again in the future.

On the other hand, Dan Quinn has already made his presence felt. You can clearly see the difference on the field through just 2 weeks.

It's not just about the turnovers or the improved run defense, it's more about how they look more often than not like they know what their assignment is how he has these guys in a position to make a play.

It's great to see.
