Makes you wonder how Bones ever got such a good reputation in the first place. Was it just that he took those crazy risks under Fisher and they worked out and got him a lot of pub?
I think so, and the same thing happened under McVay with some successful fake punts and such until McVay grew tired of his bullshit.

That, and his kicking specialists have been better than decent.

I'll defend Fassell for a minute.

I don't think he's terrible.

For one, our ST the year before he got here were among the worst in the league.

I believe they were a big improvement last season, generally middle of the pack.

We now have a pretty good punter and kicker, and our coverage units seem solid.

He does like to take risks every once in a while.

I'm actually ok with that, I just wish he was smarter about when he does it. McCarthy putting his thumb on the scale a little more often would probably help.

But overall I think Fassell has been a net positive for us.

Fun little fact, in the 102 year history of the NFL there has never been a halftime score of 14-11. That is until we did it with the Chargers this weekend.

Romo was being a dork about this right after halftime or right before

I've called my kids "chuckleheads" for years, it won't be long before they graduate.

He would be an excellent special teams coach if he just picked his spots better. Our punter and kicker situation is better than we have had in a long time.

Seems like the playclocks and down & distance screens should be standardized across the NFL...kinda surprised they aren't.
why would he say the place isnt made for football? Two MFing teams play 8/9 games apiece there. Thats idiotic.

To be fair we finally cut Maher and brought in Forbath who was doing fine in 2019. they brought in Zeurlein despite Forbath.

I think Greg is a cut above Kai.

Probably. The point was more that we finally made an intelligent move on kicker before he got here. We all felt that Chris Jones needed replaced so he probably gets credit for that one.
