Maybe I'm misinterpreting the chart?

I understand it as the far right (zero seconds) is remaining seconds at the snap. So, teams in catch-up mode wouldn't bleed the clock to zero seconds, teams in the lead would.

Thats a trade that you make if you are close. We are about 7 or 8 defensive starters and a slew of depth away from being close.
