I'm definitely skeptical of some of these times.
The fact the NFL did not hold the Combine or allow for in-person visits which provided a level playing field for all times is going to make some teams make stupid decisions based off of athletic testing.

Different surfaces can really make a difference.

I mean even the setups at the school workouts are totally different. Stanford looked like they had some legit tracking equipment. But some of these I'm wondering if they are being done purely by hand timing. It's just gotten annoying to me. And frankly had we had a combine and Parsons ran anywhere in the 4.4s I'd be saying that insane good. But don't sell me this and then the DE running basically a similar 4.35-4.36 forty. A DE who could barely sniff the QB last year... 0 sacks?

Anyway, enough of my rant. The times are what they are. I feel good that Parsons has very good straight line speed without needing that forty time. But I'm not going to buy he has legit 4.35 speed.

What are the character concerns with Parsons besides being a bully in the locker room?

We've been needing a Charles Haley-type for the longest.

The only thing I have seen is one instance of a locker room altercation that happened back in 2018. No charges were pressed at the time.

This is where as fans we have no idea about a dudes character. I have no idea if that incident is just football players being football players or if this guy is a bomb waiting to explode. We will never have the information that teams are able to get on stuff like this.

The thought of an alpha rookie LB coming in and taking over for Jaylon's dumbass would be nice.

I hate they guaranteed his salary, but they did shit else in FA had no other choice. I'd have preferred to have kept Joe Thomas and let Jaylon go to LA or NY, frikkin wannabe celeb.

I like Parsons. I think he could be a game wrecker against the run and love his physical nature. He reminds me a bit of Lavar Arrington coming out. I don't think he will be a huge asset in pass coverage but he can definitely drop into a zone in a hurry.

I don't think Dallas will do it though. Which is unfortunate because our run defense was the biggest problem on defense last year in my opinion. Running teams shredded us. Hell even the Skins little back shredded us.

Supposedly a 4.39 officially for Parsons, still on board with taking him at 10 here. Definitely don't love the fact that he sat out the season but I think he's a pretty clean on-field evaluation aside from the off-field stuff.

The processing isn't as quick as you'd like it to be at times but the guy has only played 2 years of full-time off-ball LB, I'm willing to gamble on that as long as he checks out personality/work ethic wise.

I want nothing to do with him. Off the field stuff is no bueno.

We don't need that with our top 10 pick.

Yea, I have no clue what the deal is there so it's hard to say.

I don't fully believe the 40 time, but the guy is certainly sub-4.5, and you can't jerry-rig the other test numbers where he had a really strong 3-cone and broad I think as well.

I feel like I don't know enough about that to say one way or the other. I can watch a guy and say I want that on my defense. But I can't fairly speak on character and intelligence which is extremely important in a LBer.

I would take Parsons at ten and be happy to do it. All I've heard about his so called red flags is "off field problem". Well...? What is it? It can't be that bad if they won't openly discuss it, and I haven't heard it's so terrible that teams are taking him off their boards, or even moving him down because of it.

He plays fast, and he plays mean. Something our defense has been sorely lacking for too long.

Lavar Arrington has his back.

"I'm not ok with the start of an inappropriate and inaccurate framing of @_micahparsons11 character," Arrington wrote Jan. 27. "I've watched this young man grow over the years. He has always been an awesome young man. He graduated school in 3 years HE HAS HIS DEGREE. He leaned on me to learn the ins and outs of how to study and approach the game of football. More importantly he has asked me how to be a better human. I trust him mentoring my son. ID NEVER ALLOW A POOR CHARACTER DUDE AROUND MY FAMILY.

"I had people attack my character when I was entering the draft and I had no advocates out there dispelling horrible rumors about my character. Micah watches my home and I learn a ton from him, he's such a brilliant young man. Anyone would be lucky and blessed to have him play for their team. Call it what you will but it's sad that any publications or insiders or anyone would question his character off of false reports. Shame on you. Micah stay focused you've done well! Those who know know that's it and all it needs to be. Let's see if they report on you helping these kids in juvenile detention centers '1st Chance' God bless you he's got your back."

From what I can tell it was one isolated incident. I wouldn't call that "off field problems".
