Maybe there is legit concern over his knee. But even then he has to pass a physical or the trade won't go through. Maybe he is demanding the contract be redone before he plays.Maybe I'm missing something here.
For the price of the remainder of his contract...which comes off the books at season's end..
You could trade for Gilmore and get a top CB for the season for a 2023 6th.
Then let him walk in free agency and get a compensatory pick in 2023 that's almost certainly a third or 4th rounder, which is significantly better than the 6th you spent to acquire him.
Why wouldn't this be a no brainer?
