Just an epically bad hire. He was worse than I could have imagined. Just no real plan or process in place to teach the players what to do.
I remember being mildly excited that he would at least be an improvement over Marinelli. Wow what a misfire. He ended up fielding the worst defense in club history.

Just gotta hope beyond hope that Quinn will be better. He can't be any worse.

Yeah it's sad but old vanilla would have been better than that pile of shit we ran last year. The only positive I will say is by the second half of the season they were much better. But that's not a huge compliment, it was hard to be anything but better than what we were at the beginning of the season. We started the season as an all time bad type defense.

What were we, 2-3 when Dak got hurt?

He was on pace to throw for 6,000 yards and still get only 6 or 7 wins.

This defense is not so close that a little coaching change will do, it's time to spend.

I think if we had a healthy Prescott we could have beaten Philly, Pittsburgh and Washington at least once. Couple that with the wins against the 49ers, Bengals, Eagles and Vikings, that would have had them at 9-6 going into the finale against the Giants.

We would've easily won 9 or 10 games with him, even with the OL in shambles.

It was 1-3, and it took Andy Dalton heroics to close the Giants game for Dak. The Giants. That doesn't include the fact it took a miracle spinny onsides kick to defeat the 4-12 Falcons at home.

We were bad both with and without Dak. Even if we won our terrible division with him, we'd have been crushed in the playoffs.

The team needed a defense and it never happened.

Pitts> Lamb > Gallup

Pedigree wise.
Uhh, no. Gallup and Lamb have both proven themselves at the NFL level. Pitts hasn't done shit at the next level. To say what you said in confidence is ridiculous, to say the least.

That it couldn't get any worse.
It can't get much worse than the worst defensive unit to ever play on an NFL football field.

You get very obsessive over certain things. I'm a little worried that Pitts is in serious danger. Like the Snipes movie, The Fan.
Again, we're talking about the draft. I wish the talented position we were discussing wasn't a TE, but it is.

And if you could have injected Pitts from his senior year back in time to 2020 he'd have gone ahead of Lamb in the draft.

Pedigree-wise is that inaccurate?

You mean, the defense was bad both with and without Dak. The offense put up the numbers. But, no QB in this league can overcome and epically bad defense and his RB putting the ball on the turf that much. No QB in the league.

But it's disingenuous to say the top players in this draft are shit because they haven't proven themselves in the NFL yet. There's a really good chance the top ranked college talent is going to be damned good in the NFL.

I don't know if Gallup can be a #1. I strongly suspect Lamb could be.

Lamb went 17 and Gallup's pedigree was of a 3rd rounder.

Neither are as good or nearly as consistent as Cooper who was the 4th overall pick-- so the pedigree seems to be holding true.

It's very possible Pitts gets drafted that high.

Pedigree wise it makes me think Pitts could be good for a long time, wherever he lands.

Of course he could be an injury-riddled wreck, too. Who really knows? This is best guess.

Exactly. As I posted earlier, you could have Aaron Rodgers and Bill Walsh in their primes and it wouldn't have mattered.

Who gives a shit about this "pedigree" you're talking about?

You said "it's disingenuous to say the top players in this draft are shit because they haven't proven themselves in the NFL yet", but guess what, you also can't claim they will be a superstar in the NFL without seeing them on an NFL field yet. What I can say is Gallup and Lamb have both proven themselves at the next level without any reservation. You can't claim that about Pitts.
