Trading up that high for Mac Jones seems silly to me. He could easily drop out of the top 10 if the 49ers don't take him. But who knows. They may really be that in love with him.

I can’t imagine they use three first round picks and a third rounder for Mac Jones. They could have stayed pat and drafted him. Or waited and traded up when their guy fell to a more reasonable spot.

They traded up to have their pick of three players, only one of whom (Fields) is ready to play this year (assumingLawrence and Wilsonare the top two).

I also can’t see how Wilson is rated higher than Fields.

Jones is arguably the most pro ready of their options and if they actually intend to trade Garoppolo I think it'll be Jones.
