Baker Mayfield hasn’t thrown an INT since OBJ went down.

Im rooting for Cleveland the rest of the way.
A lot of people thought he'd be a better QB without OBJ. So far he's proving them right.

Yesterday was also the first time in over a month that Cleveland played a game in clear conditions. Their last 3 or 4 games they've been playing in heavy rain and high winds. Not trying to make excuses for him but even Brady and Dak looked bad in those conditions during last year's Pats-Cowboys game.

The Hurts thing with Philly is so good.

They have tons of cap tied up in Wentz.

And Hurts is not that good.

Nice.
He looked better than Wentz yesterday. I think they end up starting him on Sunday.

The one thing that bugged me the most when he was at Oklahoma was that he held the ball too long. It took him too long to go through his progressions and too many pass plays ended up being scramble drills because of this. I didn't see that yesterday. Yesterday he made quicker decisions and got the ball out of his hands pretty quickly.

I don't disagree that Hurts was slightly better than Wentz yesterday, but Wentz is a very low bar.

Wentz 6/15 79
Hurts 5/12 109

Both were really bad.

One game and Hurts is declared all bad?

I know this is mostly about you being a homer, but re-read what I said and show me where I said he was all bad beyond one game.

In fact I literally said "yesterday" and "were".

Judging Hurts totally on first appearance.

Aikman’s first game stats was 17 of 35 for a percentage of about 50 %

Hurts can't consistently win with his arm in the NFL, until that changes he'll never be anything but a sideshow gadget player. If they start him the rest of the year they might win one game and that's it.

Maybe so but until that is actually confirmed it just opinion. He did very well with all the college programs some of which were either national champions or competed for same. Early pronouncements aren’t necessarily factual.

With Garrett gone and three Oklahoma QBs, we may be witnessing a passing of the torch from Schmitty to Boomer Sooner.

I don't even think he reaches Taysom Hill levels unless he's fortunate enough to have a top level offensive mind as his coach.

If the Eagles replace Pederson with a random retread who lacks creativity, Hurts won't progress as a player and the team won't win games due to his limitations as a passer.

About forming one game opinions...One loss to the Giants and Russell Wilson is now feeling the effects. 107 QBR, 70% completion, 32 TD / 11 INT
My post said he is feeling the effects of longivety and it’s pretty plain to see. He isn’t as fast as he once was and cannot elude tacklers a much as he previously did, etc. He is experiencing the lessening of having played several seasons and it happens to most players who have fairly long careers in the NFL. I don’t see why you take this as a put down to Wilson. It just an observation and comparison to the way things happen with longivety players in the league. It’s not even close to a single game conclusion.
