I'm with you on this, ravi. Lamb is awesome but this defense is pretty much crap.

I don't think Nolan is anything special but maybe McCarthy's influence on the entire team will make a difference.

I think most offensive coordinators would disagree with you. Sack numbers can be inconsistent. His play wasn't.
The box score is the quickest and easiest thing to drool over and scream. Never mind actual play on the field.

I love stats but I don't think anyone who actually knows a thing about football thinks that Lawrence wasn't having a big impact on games.

This is such a copout and over dramatization. Yeah, Lawrence had a down year. Players do that sometime. But it's not guaranteed he is going to remain down. We've seen what kind of player he is. I'd say chances are damn good he will rebound. As for the rest...? We had disgustingly awful DT play last year. We won't this year. Our LBers and back end will be better. And to say that we have.... nobody? More drama.
Then who scares you if you are the Eagles and are building a gameplan?

The offense, that’s who.

The defense can be lined up against any but maybe a handful of defenses in the league and not convincingly compare favorably.

The whole roster are JAGs and injury gambles who all happened to have “down years”

Five sacks isn’t a down year for your highest paid player. It is a disaster

Our defense was ranked 11th in points allowed and 9th in yards allowed. We have upgraded DT, we return the same LBs, our star DE is probably due for at least something of a bounce back, and we solidified safety at least a bit in FA. We still have the draft to maybe add another corner like Diggs or another end or tackle to solidify the DL. For as average as Crawford is, he’s also no liability. And again.... Robert Quinn was a pass rushing specialist but not great at other things.

I don’t see how we are so much worse on D. Corner will be the question.... can Lewis replace Jones? Here’s the thing... Lewis is fucking good and the last staff wouldn’t play him. I’m betting by time the draft is over we have enough talent to be very similarly ranked on D... maybe better if Lawrence, LVE and Jaylon all bounce back... which they may with the improved DT play.

No way then you can explain five sacks to me.

That is terrible.

Even if he doubled the number, he’s not an elite defender.

He needs a complete resurgence in scheme and health.

I get the league wears you down, but that is falling off the map. It was Roy Williams-esque
