I keep trying to tell people that it's a myth that the Big 12 doesn't play defense. We just have had some incredibly talented QBs paired with some of the games best offensive minded coaches.

The SEC finally got a good batch of QBs and offensive coaches in the league last year then all of a sudden their defensive numbers took a huge dip. Funny how that happens when teams aren't running 25 year old offensive schemes built on the "3 yards and a cloud of dust" foundation.
Haha, totally with you. For the most part the SEC has simply had horrible QB play forever until the last couple of years.

Murray is a physical specimen and that Tech LB actually looks really good to me. I bet Gallimore goes before too long.

I would prefer if one of the top safeties or Dlinemen were there, but I wouldn't mind any of those guys, either. They are good players.

I'm not one of the fuck cornerback guys. You need good corners to have a good defense. There should be a good defender for us in the 2nd.
I’m perfectly fine with a CB in the second.

However as for this year the value for us preliminarily would seem to be having a guy like Delpit, McKinney, Winfield, Epenesa, Blacklock, Baun, Gross-Matos... one of those.

Maybe Diggs at corner.

Yeah I really like Gallimore. The guy is stupid strong and a pretty damn good athlete. He is my third best DT right now but that's because I really like the TCU and Texas AM kids.

We do not have “no defense.” We have pretty good LBs, especially now that we have upgraded the DTs in front of them and they have some beef. Lawrence should bounce back. RDE and LCB are two question marks but we have some options there, and some depth. And more draft picks that can fill it.
I hope so too. But let’s just say it’s completely unproven at this point.

All NFL defenses have good players, and the good defenses have at least two studs.

I would say we have no studs.

Our best remaining player tied for 73rd in sacks... with Taco Charlton. Sorry, but Terrell Suggs finished with more.

Our “good” DBs don’t gave half a handful of interceptions between them.

Our linebackers fell back to Earth hard.

LVE wasn’t a factor in the games he played, and Jaylon was bad and out of position.

The two best players from 2019 are gone.

Let it sink in... there’s nobody.

Yeah I think I could make a pretty awesome list of players after the first is up of guys I'd like to draft. I'm hoping some RBs start going before our pick.

You’d have to think this ends his comeback chances.
I thought about that as well. I suppose if he wanted to play for the vet minimum he could be WR4 but usually WR4s are on special teams and Dez is no ST player.

Speaking of ST. CeeDee Lamb was Oklahaoma's primary PR the last couple of years. And he was pretty good at it. Could be something to consider going into camp. Maybe Tavon gets bumped and Fassel inserts Lamb into that PR role.

Keep in mind, this new coaching staff on defense should change things as well. There is hope.

This is such a copout and over dramatization. Yeah, Lawrence had a down year. Players do that sometime. But it's not guaranteed he is going to remain down. We've seen what kind of player he is. I'd say chances are damn good he will rebound. As for the rest...? We had disgustingly awful DT play last year. We won't this year. Our LBers and back end will be better. And to say that we have.... nobody? More drama.

It’s a wing and a prayer.

The two DTs are clearance rack guys. LVE is the biggest disappointment and Smith still isn’t the player he was in college. Lee? Woods? Awuzie? They are forgettable.

There is no one on the Cowboy defense any OC worth a shit has to gameplan for.

And don’t say Demarcus Lawrence and his 5 fucking sacks. That guy took the money and checked out.

No, Dallas has to bank on schemes and luck and obviously an offense that is going to crush it.
