He would have ranked behind Mayowa (6), Collins (5), T. Crawford (4.5) and Irving (4). Tied with J. Crawford and ahead of Lawrence who had one.

Dumervil had 272 snaps and had 3 sacks. Fewer snaps than Collins (617), T. Crawford (607), Irving (452), McClain (438), J. Crawford (491), Mayowa (356), Lawrence (329). Only the 278 snaps by Thornton is remotely close.

Just state the obvious, we are pathologically adverse to signing veterans who will be role players, citing that they will be "progress stoppers". What the fuck ever. We would rather keep shit like Jack Crawford around to play nearly twice as many snaps and produce less.

The Niners have an even younger group of top draft picks on their line but they aren't concerned about him taking snaps. Sometimes having a vet around to show the young players how to do the little things helps.
