Most of my coaching philosophies have been influenced by him. Just about everything I have done has been because of him and a few others (Dave Cisar, Rocky Long and others). They are contrarians, which I love in the underdog role. Why do what everyone else does and follow the football norm? That only allows your opponent a great chance to prepare for you since you do common things. It is hard to imagine now but back when Leach was bringing the Air Raid mainstream most people thought he was an idiot. Since then he has thransformed the Big 12 and college football as a whole. I think you will be hard pressed to find someone who was a bigger Leach supporter than myself. What he did was brillant. He never got a chance to truly shine like he should have because he turned into an even bigger egotistical idiot. That eventually destroyed him. As a result if his selfishness he ruined any chance of capitalizing on at the climax of his career. Because of that he screwed over his team.I was a big supporter of Leach, but that's not exactly new news.
