Um, yeah. You can either do what they're doing, or keep losing. Regardless of candidate.

Ron better jump in before most of the $ has been committed to Trump or someone else.

It is tricky, though. I can see why he's hesitant when it looks like Trump will be the guy, and losing to Trump would only hurt him in the future. Both from all the bashing during the primary and from Trump losing the general, if that happens.

If he doesn't run, he absolutely needs to endorse Trump. He is the only candidate on our side that has a chance.

Biden is a road apple at this point. Ron can't count on facing a weak candidate five years from now.

Of course endorse him, but if Trump loses the general, the story is he's the guy who couldn't beat the guy who lost. If he sits completely out, people will think maybe he could have won if he'd run.

Of course, if we lose this one, it might be too late for everything depending on how the congressional votes turn out.

I'm still not convinced it will be Biden. Newsom might primary him. There's no doubt Newsom would beat him, is there?

A lot of doubt. Those who challenge an incumbent tend to lose.
Incumbents don't tend to be as wildly unpopular as Biden, though. Even with Dems.

Carter was pretty bad and he survived a challenge from Kennedy. If there are more Dem voters than Republican voters, then it won't matter who's on the ticket, because they'll vote for a Dem every time. See: Pennsylvania.

Yes, but politicians need to stop putting their political careers ahead of why they got into politics to begin with, which is to be for the people.

I think that goes more to the ballot harvesting discussion above.

Agree, but in this case his career is crucial for our future. If his perception is damaged, that's not good for anyone.

I'd still rather he ran and won, but I don't know if that's realistic. I wonder how many people are like Shane and won't vote for him because they think he's a swamp rat in disguise. I don't know anyone who thinks that, but I guess there are enough out there who do to make a difference.

DeSantis isn't beating Trump. That's pretty apparent now. Best thing to do is endorse Trump and fix the issues of the Shane's out there.

If he's the guy, I just hope Trump will actually stay focused on issues people care about - economy, crime, education, border, ect. And quit sticking his foot in his mouth like he does.

They better find someone that can beat Trump because the Democrats will definitely beat Trump. Trump has gone too far out there for normal people to vote for him in general. And that means a brutal loss to the Democrats. And I pray that doesn't happen because things have been pretty shitty under Biden and another 4 years of that would be brutal. People are just too fucking dumb sometimes to know what they should do.

As long as it's a fair election, I am not convinced of this.
