Seems like most of the incoming young QB talent will once again be going to the AFC.

Hopefully Dak can pull his head out of his ass one of these years because the competition in the conference is going to be relatively soft.

Did you guys watch the Senior Bowl practice last night on NFLN? I only caught a couple of minutes.

I watched parts of it. Kind of nice I can stream on one computer screen while working on the other computer screen. It's hard because the Senior Bowl can just be so deceptive. You watch the practice, guy looks like an absolute beast, and never does anything in the NFL. You can watch another guy who blows (Steele) and he becomes a really good NFL starter. I'm probably being too harsh but I try not to get too into what I see at the Senior Bowl anymore. You just have to always keep in mind, like are these corners good, or do the WR's at the Senior Bowl suck. Or do the QBs just suck at the Senior Bowl this year.

Little know secret is that the teams/scouts don't derive much of anything watching the practices live from a purely football perspective.

The Senior Bowl is really all about interacting with the players 1 on 1 during the week, seeing how they take to an NFL-type classroom environment, and how they conduct themselves during practice with their teammates, coaches and such.

The practices are filmed like games from all-22 angles and viewed after the fact, they aren't doing the nitty gritty breaking down of technique and such while physically at the event.

Sometimes a guy will just blow everybody out of the water by the eye test to the point that it's obvious for everybody to see, like Jermaine Johnson last year, but the practices are almost like a social event for team personnel.

Both of these things are the reality of the roster for this game. I can't think of one player from either position I think will be an impact player.

I mean maybe some middle round receivers. The fact that Rice isn't killing it makes me concerned.

Rice isn't really a 1st round guy, if it were me I'd probably pass on a WR in the first and hope that one of Downs, Rice, Hyatt or Flowers falls in the 2nd. Maybe trade up a few spots for one of them.

I just did a simulated mock and I chose:
1. Porter Jr.
2. Hyatt
3. Sewell
4. Spears from Tulane

At this point, I'd be happy with that. But it's way early yet.

Any of you animals watching this Shrine Bowl? I know there's probably nobody any good in it.

I have it on as I am farting around.

The guys I had actually heard of have come up pretty small so far.

There are a lot of bad looking bodies on both sides of the lines.

Any Zay Flowers sightings?

You know what, not at all. I have not seen him at all.
Wonder if he is sitting the game out? Honestly not sure why he wasn't at the Senior Bowl.

Ah just read he only practiced the first day. No injury but didn't want to risk too much. Guessing he isn't at the game.

Yeah it's unfortunate. Usually some top QBs take the opportunity at the Senior Bowl to propel their draft stock. It seems like a pretty low risk chance to take. I think Max Duggan has shown well at the Senior Bowl but he was like a fringe seventh rounder who may make it closer to the middle rounds as a result. Would have liked to see some other top college kids take the same chance. Hell someone like Levis may have pushed himself into the discussion as top QB.

Feels like the Senior Bowl was passed over a bit this year. Still some really good players there but I think it was a missed opportunity for some guys to really raise their stock by going and dominating against lower level talent.
