But, is he a lot better NOW? I'm not sure we know that.He was a lot better than people are letting on.

That's kinda what the coaches and practice are for, no?But, is he a lot better NOW? I'm not sure we know that.
Yeah, but have they come out and said he is still his old self? I haven't seen it. Hence why I said, I'm not sure we know that. That's kinda what the coaches and practice are for, no?
The rub is that once he gets put back at LT and is not yet himself, then what? You bench him and go right back?Yeah, but have they come out and said he is still his old self? I haven't seen it. Hence why I said, I'm not sure we know that.
And you know if they put him in, barring injury, they are not benching him. So, he could look terrible and Jerry won't sit him back down. Everyone knows this is true. The rub is that once he gets put back at LT and is not yet himself, then what? You bench him and go right back?
Continuity is a big deal on an OL. I just hope we are prepared to make difficult decisions that could impact a lot of things.
There is the chance he is normal, which means a game like the 49ers last year. Is that better than Tyler Smith?I don't think there's much chance that Tyron is going to be terrible.
Too much unknown. I leave Tyron at swing. There is the chance he is normal, which means a game like the 49ers last year. Is that better than Tyler Smith?
Right. But you know...I don't think there's much chance that Tyron is going to be terrible.
Joke all you want, but this is a legit concern.Right. But you know...

Not only that game, but he’s done a lot more holding in recent past and has been part of the penalty problem. There is the chance he is normal, which means a game like the 49ers last year. Is that better than Tyler Smith?

This, 100%.And it's not just Tyron being terrible -- I mean, no, he's not going to be Chaz Green -- it's that even if he's fine, you're not messing with one position, but two. The timing on combo blocks and everything else won't just be different at LT and LG, it'll be different at LG and C too.

In 2008 we schemed and led the league with 59 sacks. It didn’t mean shit since we couldn’t stop guys like Stephen Jackson from stomping Jay Ratliff’s face on big runs.
In your opinion, sure. In mine, not so much.Joke all you want, but this is a legit concern.
People love the penalties myth. Like how Jason Witten was good for a few false starts every game. Dude had a high of 7 in a season once. Once. This is a myth.
Tyron had 7 penalties accepted against him last season.
He's only had 3 seasons better than that in his entire career, and for his career he actually averages exactly 7 penalties a season.
