It's funny how the upset loss changes the perception so much. Had we just held that lead in the fourth quarter against the Packers, would we still say this team can't be trusted?

Ultimately though, what we look like in December is what really matters. These games are just about where we position ourselves in the playoffs.
Honestly I would have felt much better about the team. GB sucks ass, and Dallas should have gone in there and hung 40 on them, too.
It’s the consistency thing that bothers me, mostly from an offense standpoint.

He had two 1 yrd TDs, and was used a lot in short yardage. You can't go by just his ypc. Stats are so easy to manipulate.

Dude was running hard. I think you vastly underrate him. Is he as good as he once was? Of course not. But he's not a piece of shit like so many here like to imply, either.
He actually had a few nice bursts yesterday…there’s no denying he still has great vision and power and his short yardage carries were huge. He just doesn’t have the wheels like he used to.

I'm still in awe of Dak running right into a sack but not being sacked. He was dead in the water. Ran right into the players arms and said not today.

this is very much a week-to-week team that can't be trusted
Keep in mind this is a very young team that is still maturing.

I told you guys, the Cowboys don't lose when I'm in live attendance or I start a gameday thread.
You better set a god damn alarm on Thanksgiving day.

The thing about the mojo is that it has to be selective.

I can't start every thread or go to every game -- it's a special power that is not to be abused.

It's just the football Gods coming together letting me know when the magic is in the air and when to make the most of it.

So yeah.... I'll start off every gameday thread so long as the inspiration to do so comes to me organically.
You will be like the early 90s Cowboys. The football gods know what you're going to throw at them and they still can't beat you. If I have to drive you Houston myself to feed you organic mojo I will do it.

I said twice yesterday that Zeke looked sprout. He just seemed have a littler more pep in his step.

I don't get the "can't trust them" thinking. How many teams can be trusted to win every week? Those are rare as hens teeth. I mean, we knew this team wasn't the 93 Cowboys. Every team is up and down to some degree and upsets happen every week, but that's why you play 16-17 games.

I've always thought the key was piling up enough wins to make the playoffs consistently and eventually the breaks will go your way. Like how Jack Nicklaus has more majors than anyone, but he finished 2nd and 3rd more than anyone too. The problem with this team is we always follow a good year with a crappy year. This will be the first time in forever that doesn't happen.*

Absolutely. Great post. Even those all timer Cowboys teams of the early 90s lost a few games.

Pollard had 189 yards from scrimmage yesterday. The man needs to be on that field a lot.

Yes, this was the first game since maybe New England last year that there weren't any dirt balls or WTF throws. Every QB misses some throws, but Dak has stretches almost every game lately where he misses by a mile, and that didn't happen yesterday. I don't know if that was a one-off or not, but if he plays like that we can beat anyone.
