If you had told me we would go 4-1 with Rush, I would’ve said you’re nuts. And it took a melt down of TO’s to lose the 5th game. Well done Rush. He came through for us.
If you told me after the Tampa game that Rush would start the next 5 games I would've put the odds at something like this:

0-5: 20%
1-4: 35%
2-3: 30%
3-2: 15%
4-1: 0%
5-0: 0%

The fact that we went 4-1 with him is a god damn miracle, it basically guarantees that we'll make the playoffs as long as we stay reasonably healthy, and I'd say there's even a shot we win the division, although it's probably only like 25%.

They weren't completely shut out, Graham in particular beat Smith pretty badly a few times, particularly on that deep shot to Lamb that was picked.

With that said, given the fact that we were down 20-0 I think the pass protection was mostly solid.

It bodes well for facing them again in the future, ideally when we aren't down by 20.

Smith is still adapting, and really doing well being thrown in the fire.

I hope Cooper Rush never takes another snap for us. Yeah, we went 4-1 with him. Great. Awesome. But we probably would have done that with any other back up in the league. This guy isn't it. Hell, if we had a competent backup, we probably win last night, too. He's the same guy we all wanted out of here during the preseason. Our record right now is all because of the defense and special teams.

His 4-0 start this year was a mirage. A product of the defense imposing it's will on teams. He got lucky with no turnovers and having to air it out. When those showed up, the curtain was pulled back. Please go sit down now, collect your check quietly and leave in the off season.

I wouldn't say we'd go 4-1 with "any other backup", maybe a league average backup, but Rush made a few plays when he had to here and there to win games even though he had a narrow role to play.

He knows the system, he knows the players, the locker room believes in him, I'd be more than happy to bring him back cheap since it's not easy to find decent backup QB's who can step right into a system seamlessly.

This had more to do with the fact that their passing game is about 70% RPO's, there just aren't that many traditional drop backs and that's even more the case when they build a big lead like they did last night.

Let's see what happens if we're up by 20, Lane Johnson won't be saving anybody.
No doubt. Context is everything.

The no turnovers was key.

Yes. Hurts had very few dropback passes last night-he didn’t need to with a 20 point lead that Cooper basically gifted them.
I don’t think the Eagles are frauds, but they are easily beaten with a good D and an offense that can put up some points.

They aren't frauds, they remind me a lot of the 2017 team that had a strong running game, defense that was getting TO's in bunches and a smoke and mirrors passing game that simplified things for the QB.

Ultimately I expect the Eagles and Hurts to follow a similar path as those teams over the next 2-3 years where Hurts is proven as a fraud, the team trails off back to average and eventually they move on from a QB who shows that they were propped up by a strong roster while they were on their rookie deal, just gotta hope they don't luck their way into a Super Bowl this year like that team did.

I like the hurry up when he is on the field. We did that in the second half and it paid off.
That was a nice wrinkle and is something that I think can be taken advantage of going forward once we have a QB that can actually make defenses pay for stacking the box.

When the Eagles have Hargrave/Cox/Davis all on the field in run-stuffing looks we should be going hurry up to try to keep them out there and wear them down. Mixing in play action on top of it is perfect considering that personnel is mostly geared towards stopping the run.

It was also a blown coverage by Wilson, probably due to some sort of communication/discipline error, perfect example of how we mostly killed ourselves last night from the turnovers to the penalties and plays like this.

But yea, the league had better get this shit under control because it happens often with the Eagles and it completely warps the defense if it consistently goes uncalled.
