This is true but what did they actually do with the money in terms of the OL or the pass rush?

Give Armstrong a 2/13 contract and Fowler a 1 year deal that's basically for the vet minimum?

And on the OL...?

Let me guess, they need to re-sign Steele or Biadasz in 2 years?

It's farcical.

Like I said at the time, if they had re-invested the savings, specifically into the defense by signing Miller, Wagner or so forth, I would've been fine with it.

But they fucking sat on it and no bullshit that this moron spews will change that.

That's exactly right. They didn't reinvest shit to improve those other positions. They just slashed money so they could keep more. And yes, I'd rather have Cooper than Armstrong. Or Schultz. It didn't have to be a choice but this is just dumb. Jerry just didn't want to spend the money. That's all it really comes down to.

In the Joneses’ primitive minds, keeping your own is better than getting some stranger to rent for a season.

The only thing that makes any sense whatsoever is that they were deciding between cutting Cooper and someone like Lawrence, or maybe even Tyron, but even that is a stretch and would've been completely unnecessary.

And let's not forget that they also got rid of two other somewhat key pieces of the OL and DL in Collins and Gregory.

All they had to do was let Schultz walk for what would've inevitably been a comp 3rd and we could've kept everybody else.

No, because Cooper leaving decimated the WR room and offense, while adding the other 3 only reinforced an already solid defensive unit.
But he just said he laks our WRs.

It is still bullshit how much you try to parse some logic into his statement.

Lawrence basically gave them a discount, so that's not it. It was personal with Cooper, they didn't like the COVID thing and especially didn't want to pay $20M to the player.

Jerry really does talk to people like they are fucking stupid and have no clue what's really going on.

Would have made for a great politician.
Do the radio hosts ever say "Now wait a minute, Jerry" or are they sheep?

It's obviously bullshit but it's the only logic that makes even 10% sense, but given what else they did and the other options they had there's obviously no logic whatsoever.

The crux of it is they chose Schultz over Cooper and that's all there is to it.

They only push back to the tiniest degree. Occasionally Jerry barks at them a little to remind them who's boss.

They'll only talk negatively about him when he's off the air.

I think they are sheep but they do it because I'm sure he wouldn't come on any longer. Plus 105.3 I think has some affiliation with the Cowboys that they don't want to fuck up.

This is why they allow him to monopolize air time with stupid shit nobody cares about like his muddy Bronco or why he once bought an Arena League franchise.
