Shelvin has kind of disappeared off the radar. But I still think he could be a steal on day 3. He is sort of the ideal 1 technique type in my book.
Agreed....
Id take him in the fourth. He's the physical, dominating run stuffer we've needed for years.

I’ve liked Shelvin from the start, but never really got my hopes up for him since we seem to be allergic to the big tub of goo type run stoppers.

He’s the perfect 1T. I’d love to nab him on Day 3.

And a 345 pound mountain of a tub of goo. He’s one of my favorite prospects in the draft this year.

Alim McNeil is the real fat boy you all should be lusting over, although he certainly won't be there for us in the 4th.

If Pitts is this transcendent all world talent, why would he make it to the tenth pick?
Well you obviously know that both talent and position matter when it comes to impact. QB, WR, DT, DE, and OT are obviously still the biggest impact positions.

We have our QB.
We are loaded at WR and the draft is crazy deep at the position.
There's no DT worth grabbing at 10, or maybe even in the 1st round.
The best DE is Paye, whom everyone seems to hate.
The best OT in Sewell, is long gone by 10

That leaves the remaining positions

Rashawn Slater at Guard, Micah Parsons at LB and Kyle Pitts at TE are the next bunch of difference makers who are clear stars and a head above the next best at their position.

I want Parsons, but he'll be gone after posting a 4.39.

That leaves Slater or Pitts.

I could see going for Slater though we already have a 1st rounder, 2nd rounder, and 3rd rounder at the position.

Pitts is clearly better than our current TEs and would change the offense while insuring against losing either Cooper or Gallup in 2022.

If Surtain was a shutdown CB and interception machine, you take him of course. But he's neither of those things, and there is depth available in the 2nd.

Surtain mostly is a shut down CB, he's just not a pure ballhawk.

If you could guarantee me that he'd be Marlon Humphrey I'd take him at 10 no questions asked.

All that still doesn’t answer my question and tell me why this all world talent will make it to us at ten.

I hope he doesn’t.

I tend to agree.

I could see Carolina or Denver taking him. If they don't it will be because at least one of them took Micah Parsons, who is awesome and that would be sad.

Pitts is so good though you almost have to take him to keep him from the Giants or Eagles.

I'd take Christian Darrisaw over Slater at this point. If we go OL at 10, I want a true OT.

Bengals should take him if he is the second best in the draft.

Fuck that noise. If we start drafting players because we are scared a division rival might take them, then our FO is even dumber than anybody has ever suspected.

Remember when the Eagles drafted Dallas Goeddert to keep him from us? Good times.

It would be the equivalent of taking a QB when you already have a franchise QB just to keep that player away from a rival. Like you said, fuck that noise.

The goal isn't to be better than just one team. The goal is to be better than 31 teams.
