Watching him repeatedly shit the bed in the 2nd and 3rd quarters of games and massively underperform in critical games tells me otherwise. His leadership and intangibles are through the roof, but the overall production and wins just aren’t there. I don’t care if you think it’s “retarded”. The numbers tell a very damning story. The failures on defense only compounded the problem.
Jesus Christ, man, this is not the hill to die on.

My position on him remains the same as it has for some time. He needs to prove that he can win important games, and, by and large, it hasn’t happened. Yes, the defense failed in many instances. And yes, Garrett was an incompetent shill of a “coach”, but that doesn’t excuse him not performing well in so many games until garbage time.

I'm going to need you to show your work on this.

You do realize he won in SPITE of Garrett, right?

Garrett has become the all-purpose bogeyman around here. Three years from now we'll say Dak succeeded in spite of McCarthy/Moore. Nothing's ever #4's fault.

First of all that's not true. Dak gets criticized more than almost any player on the team. The guy literally can't miss a throw without some idiot claiming he is Quincy Carter 2.0.

I've seen enough of Garrett with the Giants to know it wasn't just a Cowboys fake target. He legitimately sucks as a coach and always will. But I also think it's horribly obvious that if Dak had played 16 games last season we would have been in the playoffs even with all of our injuries.

Booze, are you gonna take that?

Oh, I hated him too, but we regressed as a team after he was gone. And Dak being the best QB in a division with the likes of Hurts, Jones and Alex Smith is a pretty low bar to hurdle.

We did regress last year but I don't think Garrett to McCarthy had anything to do with it. It had way more to do with the fact that we had more injuries than I can ever remember. And honestly it did take a awhile for this team to get comfortable with the new coaches. By the second half of the season the defense and team as a whole was playing much better. Outside of the QB position.

Garrett sucked and was a massive progress stopper, but Dak has his own issues on top of Garrett’s clear incompetence. Basically, it created a multiplier effect.

Playing the Bengals (backup qb), Eagles (backup qb) and Niners (backup qb) down the stretch didn't hurt.

Eagles backup was better than the Eagles starter. So I'm not sure that really holds true. The Bengals QB situation I agree with though. And man the Niners offense just started looking ugly no matter who started.

We regressed during a season with no training camp and during a historically bad year for injuries. At one point we had like the 5th string OT starting. Of course we regressed.

He won't because he can't. He is just randomly making shit up to try to justify his hate for Dak. It's really not even worth going beyond that.
Are you fucking serious? Did you actually watch the games? It’s not like I’m the only one who points this out. Analyst after analyst and former player after former player have said the same thing. It’s not like it’s some secret. He’d disappear for long stretches of games, play like shit in the 2nd and 3rd quarter, and then rake up passing stats in the 4th in garbage time.

Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

Yeah I actually did watch the games. Would love to see this long list of experts that you claim said Dak plays like shit in the second and 3rd quarter and disappears for long stretches of games. Hell none of that is true. Please, I can't wait to see the list of these experts.

Dak has been keeping the team afloat much like Romo used to do.

We honestly haven't deserved either one of them.
