That’s where I disagree. Slater, sure. We have witnessed how we’ve struggled when Smith has went down. And really saw it this year when both starting tackles were gone. And Smith is probably nearing the end of the line. But we do not have a need at TE. Our TEs are young, and both have shown they can perform well inside our offense.(Pitts/Slater), and that they would fit a specific need that we have as opposed to needing to fix some overarching offensive dysfunction.
Pitts would be a luxury pick. Yeah, he is a great prospect. But again, our net gain wouldn’t warrant the selection when we have glaring holes all over our defense. We could select pretty much ANY position on that side of the ball and instantly be substantially better there.
