Jsmith, I wouldnt care if their entire team tested positive for Covid and OU had to play against the band.

I will take a NY6 victory and love it. I still dont think ive quite recovered from 55-19 against USC.

And it only gets worse from there.

Where is 1bigfan to relish in this? Hopefully knee deep in Sooner snatch, partying like it‘s 1999.

Unless of course he’s married, in which case I hope he is tuckered in for the night, watching The Bachelorette and checking the score on his phone.
This has been very satisfying to watch. Very excited for what this team can do over the next several years.

Even those Sooners fans begging to get into the playoffs the last two years have to acknowledge that ending the season like this, in a "meaningless" but very good bowl game, is better than taking our chances in a playoff game that we have little to no shot at winning.

They sell themselves on that "any given Sunday" nonsense then 2 qtrs into the playoff games everyone's feelings are hurt.

Give me a quality non-playoff NY6 bowl game like this instead and I'm happy. After a performance like this it's easier to sell to those 5 star recruits that Oklahoma is close to being a national title contender. You can't sell elite prospects that you're a contender after giving up 7 TD passes in a half.

I saw that excuse.

Dan Mullen has a 13-38 career record vs ranked teams so his excuse doesn't hold much water. Given his track record vs quality opponents, Oklahoma probably beats them even if they played their best players.

Also, this is why Florida will probably never win anything with Mullen as their HC. What kind of message is that to send to your own players?

I've never seen a coach make excuses like that after a game. Usually they'll put their best foot forward with the players they have at their disposal but Mullens is basically saying he's a quitter as well. By comparison, Alabama had a disappointing season last year but Saban had his team ready to play in the Citrus Bowl in Orlando.....an inferior bowl to the Cotton Bowl, and Bama blew out Michigan.

Yeah, I didn't know Mullen was such a jackwagon. I guess it's easier to keep that under wraps at Mississippi State.

Each time you watch it, there is even more going on.

Was watching that live. Tulsa's #1 was having to be helped off the field by two trainers and he looked in bad shape, like he could barely walk and didn't know where he was. Thought one of the announcers said he wasn't breathing well. I'm guessing he was at the bottom of the pile.

And then there's this future NASA engineer:

Young people today brag about the stupidest stuff.

1. He sneaks up behind the guy, attacks him from behind then kicks him while he was down.

2. He ran off like a scared bitch after kicking the guy.

To me Heath is the one who looks weak in that situation. Why are you bragging about running off like a scared bitch?

Agreed. I have never understood how I got old and they keep getting younger and more stupid. Maybe every generation sees this, I don't know/ All I do know is that dumbass should never see a football field ever again.
