They're 6-9 with no truly significant injuries except I guess Landon Collins?
Yea, they don't have much of anything offensively, but that's the point. Unless they miraculously find about 3 offensive Pro Bowlers in the off-season, along with a somewhat legitimate QB, this is more or less what they are. They don't have a Pro Bowl QB coming back to significantly boost their roster.
I guess the big difference that I see is the under and over performance of each team respectively.
I have no problem going on record as saying that I dont think McCarthy is the answer we have been waiting for. Be it in game decisions going back to his time in GB to now, or how he has filled out his staff, I dont think he is the guy. Not saying that Rivera or Judge are Belichicks in the making, but I do think it is fair to say that at this point they have done at least as much if not more with their roster than we have ours.
Taking a step back, I dont think for one second MM has done a better coaching job than Rivera, though it gets a little thinner for NY. I mean hell, WFT just picked second overall, with the Giants fourth.
Thats really my only point of contention. You can criticize those teams and their lack of success all you want, but when you really pare it down, I see more impressive coaching performances than what we have got here. Especially when you take into consideration their rosters before the season, during the season, and any other circumstance that may have presented itself.
We always critique the fact that this team cant seem to do well unless everyone is healthy and hitting on all cylinders, but even when Dak was here despite being down two OL (with still the arguably best G in the game) , this team was still a shit show. And that was with far, far superior QB play than either NY or WFT had to show for themselves. How did we fare? 1-3.
Truthfully, I feel like we are debating the difference between Dr Pepper and Mr Pibb. McCarthy simply hasnt been impressive to me. I just have more respect for the jobs that Judge and Rivera have done than MM.
