Your math sucks. It was 2.63 to be exact. He ended with 12 carries for 69 yards. Take out the 40 yard run and it was 11 carries for 29 yards. But again, I think it's silly to take out a guys best run when he only had 12 carries in the first place.

It's not my math, for some reason I thought I remembered his one good run being 42 yards instead of 40. Regardless, not sure what point you think you are making but 2.63 is still well under 3.

It's not silly, it's actually more important to look past long runs when a guy doesn't have a lot of carries because it skews the ypc even further. And also it's never silly because consistent good carries are way more important than the one or two runs that broke.

Without that run, he avg'd 4.17 YPC. I'd say that's significantly better than the 2.whatever of Pollard's, wouldn't you?

Correct!

That's the point, CRock.

It's not that the number goes down without the outlier. Of course it will.

It's a question of whether the rest of his carries hold up. In Zeke's case here, they do.

No but 18 carries for 74 yards isn't a good game either. My point was never that Zeke didn't have a good game against the Eagles. He absolutely did.

I'm just shocked that people don't think a RB who goes 12 carries for 69 yards and 6 catches for 63 yards isn't somehow a good game. You're talking 18 touches for 131 yards. I would think by anyone's measure that would be a good game. Nothing more and nothing less. My only point in all of this was that Pollard having a good game against the 49ers maybe motivated Zeke to have a good game against the Eagles. Maybe it had no impact. But Zeke had his best game all year against the Eagles for whatever reason.

Hell, Pollard was our most productive player against the 49ers.

1. You keep throwing in his receiving production. I'm not talking about that. At all.

He had a good game as a receiver, no question. Not OMG or anything, but good.

He did not have a good game as a RB. That's the relevant discussion when we're talking about whether he could replace Zeke.

2. 18 for 74 is absolutely a good game. What are you smoking?

Yeah I've never said he should replace Zeke. Hell if Zeke runs like he did against the Eagles I think he is still a really good RB. It was his best game all year in my opinion.
He gets the shit beat out of him. NFL is merciless that way.

Guy needs a lot of time off and a seriously supervised offseason program.

We badly need another bruising RB for depth.
