Does anyone else find it hard to believe we can’t do better with another person at RT , even if you do move people around to do it? I don’t get why Philbin and/or MM are so stubborn about Steele, when it’s so clear he absolutely doesn’t belong out there. He kills far more plays than he makes.
He will come along with time. Or something.

I have absolutely no doubt that our OL would be better with McGovern at RG and Martin at RT, and said as much before the Philly game I believe, but here we are.

You and about a million other Cowboys fans have said this. Why they don't change is beyond me.
McCarthy has often talked about how important it is to have the "same 5 guys" on the OL, etc., and how they don't want to move multiple guys around. I get it, it's the prevailing thought when it comes to OL's in general, but I think it goes out the window when you have 3-4+ guys out and are relying on 3rd string UDFA's.

Steele has been there all year sucking. Sometimes a guy just sucks.

I think the staff just as a hard on for him for whatever reason too. Knight was clearly better and replaced Steele at RT basically 2 drives in against Cleveland, and yet the staff decided to start him over Knight against the Rams.

I'd be surprised if Knight didn't look better during camp as well given how obvious it was in the games.

I get Knight. I thought he was decent. I would consider him a real possibility fpr swing tackle next year. He isn't a guy I want as my starter but if someone gets hurt I feel like he can not be a liability.

Knight has looked terrible at times too with top pass rushers. He and Steele can stay for depth, but other than that...

The real shame of it is that it took away a strip sack from Crawford, so hopefully we can find a way to bring him back next year for maybe 10-11 or so per year.

In all seriousness though, the call was horrendous, if Claypool hadn't tripped over his own two feet (or flopped over) there never would've been a flag.

I literally can't think of a single time over the last 10 years where I've thought to myself, "you know, NFL officiating really seems to be better". It's just a slow death spiral to new depths every single year.

It's doubly biased towards the Steelers.

They live on defensive penalties. Amazing how many were called against Baltimore just the week before. You can hear Romo and Nance tip-toeing around calling it out explicitly.

If I were an announcer I'd get fired because I'd point out the insane bias (statistically proven) that favors the Steelers.

It's crazy. And yet when our QB is throwing a pick in the end zone and Cooper is clearly held, you get nothing. I get that refs miss stuff. But it's pretty insane when the officials call everything against one side and miss the same stuff against the other. I don't know that I have a great explanation for why. I can't imagine that the NFL tells their officials to be biased. But there is definitely a weird favoritism with the Steelers in the NFL. There is no way that all these officials are just Steelers fans. So I'm kind of left wondering why the hell the games are officiated the way they are. It's not just the Cowboys game. The Steelers seem to get this benefit against everyone they play.

Aside from penalties called/not-called, it's benefit of ball spot, two-feet in, fumble-no-fumble, catch-no-catch as well.

Oh, yeah, here's a new one and this happened the week before our game...essentially, referees waited 10-seconds before stopping clock for an injured Steelers Cam Heyward, preventing the Ravens from QB spike. As a result, only 8 seconds left in the fucking game! Should've been ~18 seconds which is monumental when the Ravens were at the 23-yard line.

Gilbert is accustomed to playing with an AAF-quality offensive line.
