I understand. But his trends this season after 5 games are barely average. About 72 yards rushing per game and some say that’s not bad but the number of dropped passes and fumbles makes this contribution almost worthless. This is what I am saying. Sure sit him as a wake up call but keep a close tab on whether he is an asset or liability to the team.
What are you advocating? The salary is going to prevent anything other than playing him for the next few years.

That mentality right there is our undoing. No one in their right mind would be proud of winning a dire division. That's not the standard.
But when your job is to 'sell' a sorry-ass team to the masses, you'll say anything.

Lower that limbo bar of expectations!

Jerry's gonna eat four years of that contract? No way. MM will get three years minimum, so get used to him.
To say nothing of the fact that Jerry would leave himself open to ridicule, and legit questions of whether McCarthy simply suckered him to steal his money? Jerry's ego couldn't handle that even more than his pocketbook.

No problem. Start the benchings and find the guys that DO want to play. Cut the players that you can and let the ones you can't rot on the bench. If nothing else, word will easily get out on who the underachieving malcontents are, so that once the Cowboys can cut them, nobody else will rush to sign them.

I’m advocating what I said. Monitor closely going forward whether his production justifies his cost to the cap and make a decision as to whether you replace him with a lower cost RB who can produce as much or more than Elliot is currently contributing and doesn’t get back to his prior production.

No idea why we would do that unless its for a case of beer. Dak is a better QB every day of the week and Darnold isn't winning us shit this year. So you're trading for the dude to be your starter for a year and that's it

Trading a second round pick for Sam Darnold? What does that have to do with Zeke?

I'd have no problem trading or cutting Zeke except he is Daks best friend.

I figure it's just a lame attempt to try to drum up interest in Darnold where it doesn't exist.

Are you saying Elliot cant be traded or cut?
Would you trade for that contract? I dont know the exact contract numbers but I would assume thats too much dead money on the cap to cut.
