Jimbo's a good coach but yeah it's definitely looking like they aren't going to get their money's worth with this one.

They're a 9-4 / 8-5 type of program. Every 10-15 years the stars will align and they'll go 11-2 but for the most part it's safe to pencil them in for 4 or 5 losses.

If the jump to the SEC didn't give the program a bump I don't know what will.

Yeah he has zero excuses not to be a perennial contender each year. That school has every resource needed. Money, conference, located in a recruiting gold mine state, facilities, etc etc etc.

But few coaches do less with more than Jimbo Fisher.

Yeah they have some real problems on the defensive side. The offense is adequate but the running game is average. I am afraid they will lose maybe 5 Games and end up in a minor bowl if there are post season Bowls this season. The young Quarterback shows real promise but he doesn’t have enough experience to always make good decisions.

I'm not going to lie, in the moment it's frustrating as hell watching Oklahoma look like hot garbage vs average competition.

But an hour after the game I'm perfectly fine because I realize this is for the best. Just like last year when I said halfway through the season that I hoped Oklahoma didn't make the playoffs because it would be a terrible mismatch, the same holds true this year.

The last thing I wanted to see this year was for Oklahoma to sneak back into the playoffs this season and get throttled by 30+ again on the national stage. Thankfully it would now take a historic collapse by several different teams for them to even be considered as a playoff team.

So even though I might bitch a bit along the way, I will gladly take an appearance in the freaking Liberty Bowl over watching them get their teeth kicked in in the playoffs again.

Hopefully. Seems like the players and coaches thought they could float through the Big 12 season and that winning the conference title was foregone conclusion.

I don't think they understand that they're the Super Bowl for practically every team in the conference. Therefore, they have to be prepared to match the energy and intensity of their opponents every week.
