I doubt it’s a motor because the fan and condenser are separate wiring. Meaning for both of those to go out at the same time is highly unlikely. I’m still betting it’s the thermostat. But, I don’t know wtf I’m talking about really so I’m guessing from past experience.
Yeah if the fans not coming on then it damn near has to be a problem with the thermostat or furnace(and in my experience usually something with the circuit board), but I'm not an AC tech either so going by what I've experienced too

I just bought a Honeywell thermostat about 6 months ago. It's nothing fancy. Just a standard programmable one that cost about $40. I checked the batteries and it's lit up like everything is fine. But watch that end up being the problem. :lol

If you have a newer Trane system they have a fuse on the circuit board in the furnace now you should check too .
This is what happened to be me recently. Took a $3 part and k was up and running. Mine isn’t Trane though.

Your Alexa is sabotaging new non-smart devices.

Try tossing your Alexa into a wood chipper and then re-trying your A/C

They can go out even if fairly new. Plus, the wiring into the wall unit behind the thermostat can be compromised causing a lack of contact.

I'm going to check the fuses later tonight or early tomorrow morning. If that's the issue then I can just cancel my service call.

I don't own an Alexa, echo dot, Google Home, etc. because I don't trust them.

If you have a volt meter, you can pull the thermostat off the wall and make sure you're getting 24 volts to the thermostat. That will tell you if it's a wiring issue to or from your thermostat.

I'll give that a try now.

So apparently I don't have any volts going to the thermostat. My voltmeter didn't move when I tried it on different prongs.

I tested my voltmeter on a power outlet and its working fine. So it looks like the problem is related to the thermostat wiring.

I would check that wiring. It should look like this with your thermostat off the wall...

Make sure all of those screws are tight and then re-test it for 24 volts. Use the positive on your volt meter on the red wire and the black on the green wire.

If you want me to call you I can. The wire colors may be different.

Yeah my wiring is different. I have 6 different wires.

As I mentioned, I installed this thermostat about 6 months ago and haven't had a problem with it until yesterday.

Some thermostats aren't designed for 6 wire configurations. One of your wires should be putting out juice too if you have a c wire.

I have 2 units each running 2 zones for a total of 4 zones. They have 6 wires but the colors could be different. I have a picture from when I replace my thermostat if it may help though. The new thermostat that was fucking everything up was a cheap honeywell. I don't think it could handle the wire configuration. I replaced it with the lower end nest and everything worked perfect.

You've helped a lot. At least we've narrowed it down.
I really have no idea what I'm talking about except past experience in trying to trouble shoot mine in the past. There are contactors out in the main unit outside that may not be pulling in as well. But, I'm quite sure it's dark there and I would bet you don't want to try and dig into that. But, if you do, the contactor looks like a plastic piece that is only called into contact when 24v is sent to it. It is right next to the compressor normally.

Yep that's the piece that when it gets the signal from the thermostat pulls down the contact and engages the compressor, it's the one I've had ants in before that stopped it from making contact

Same. I have had the same thing happen in the contactor on my pressure switch for my well. I had a piece of leaf (no, I'm not kidding) get between the two contacts and I lost water. 24v, man.
