No reason not to. Literally could be the difference for this team
One player isn’t gonna fix this D. It’s letting up 40 a week. Maybe Thomas gets it down to 33? Still all time bad.

We are seeing bad McCarthy right now and it’s the opposite of whatever good Garrett had. All throwing, no run game, no defense, no ball control, QB and offense in general doesn’t protect the ball, but they put up chunks and chunks of yardage in the air.

As I said, in an effort not to panic I have to chalk this up to just no offseason for a new staff and of course bad injuries to places we could not afford.

But this is a very mediocre team right now. I’m scared of Arizona for chrissakes.

Dak played really well today, but the overall game that he had today was a confirmation of what some of us have felt for a while now -- he is a really good NFL quarterback but not a special or elite one.

He can get your team back into a game and he never stops fighting. But he's also not one of those guys who the other team fears having the ball in his hands at the end of a game.

Likewise, I rarely have any real confidence when we have the ball last that he's going to find a way to get us to score.

His two turnovers were basically the difference in the game. His interception right before the half and his fumble right after the half basically did them in.

Yes, the defense is a dumpster fire and it's probably not going to get much better than this. But Dak still had plenty of opportunities to win this game and he didn't.

He's going to need coaching advantages and an improved defense for him to reach a Super Bowl. This is not the worst situation in the world to be in, but he's not one of those guys who are destined to get to the big game.

He needs the right things around him to get you to a SB.

That's just how I see it.

Do you guys think if we run another screen it'll work this time?

Seattle only blew up about 4 screens to Elliott, but maybe if we try it a 5th time it'll work out.
So much fail on that last offensive drive.

We literally could do anything against them with our recievers. Why keep forcing other shit that clearly isn't working. Just mind blowing. That last drive was sunk by stupid play calls not the INT

The back 7 is completely discoordinated with LVE out and starting Darian fucking Thompson. These coaches look like complete dipshits rolling with a JAG like Thompson and just shrugging their shoulders about it.
At this point I’m not sure Nolan lasts more than a year. 40 points a damn game.

So many holes and not enough draft picks because we know FA is bargain basement signings for this team.

Is Pollard in the doghouse? I know he's a clusterfuck on ST, but that doesn't explain his almost total invisibility on offense.

They just need to show Dak this game tape if he wants what Russell Wilson makes.

Nope.

Your three turnovers basically lost it for us.

To be fair, facing the 2nd best run defense/worst pass defense, Garrett likely would have pounded Zeke up the middle all game.
At least leaning on Dak throwing the ball gave Dallas a chance.
Zeke was absolutely nowhere to be found and made a handful of mental errors today.
I'm with you on defense though.

Garrett never had an OL as beat up as this, if Garrett was coaching today we'd have probably lost by 20.

Dak Prescott's ability isn't the main question, though, it's what do you do about his contract?

You franchise him another year for ~$38M, let him walk or sign him for 4YR, $35M?

It kinda wasn’t though. We seemed to get good value on the DL. Griffen was excellent, Aldon Smith has been great, McCoy just got hurt.

Injuries are killing us among other things though.

You wonder if McCarthy's gonna light up Kellen Moore behind closed doors.

It's been three weeks now and, yeah, you're the one coach that is familiar with the players here.

I’m not comparing them.

I’m simply saying what you saw today was classic bad McCarthy. OL struggles, no running game, no defense, try to get bailed out by passing game.

It’s the opposite of our old philosophy, good or bad, which was often too conservative to a fault.

It’s certainly concerning though.

I would sign him for the 4 years. This team backed into Dak otherwise we would still be trotting out the Paxton Lynchs and such. I dont trust them to be able to find another unless they completely tank for a year.

I'd do the 4yr/35 mil a year deal at this point.
No help from the defense or running game and thanks to Prescott we had the lead with a few minutes to go.
Had to overcome four first quarter fumbles last week as well.
