If you don't already, I would be buying multiple guns and lots of ammo. Be safe, man.
Thanks buddy, fortunately I have a gated entry which makes it difficult to just pop-in. They'd have to traverse a fence covered in vines, trees and bushes with a semi busy road out front with no place to park because of a culvert that runs the length of the front property line..
I've accumulated about 20 guns (mainly shotguns and rifles and a pea shooter .22 the gun store said was a piece of crap) as family members passed away and given them to me. But all I really keep handy is my good old Remington 870 shotgun by my bed (I removed the plug so it has like 10 shells) and a huge Dirty Harry pistol my step dad left me.
Speaking of the shotgun, I have a big box of shelIs I bought probably 30+ years ago. Does anyone know if shotgun shells go bad? I've been thinking about going in my backyard and firing a couple of shots but I'm afraid it could send the neighborhood into a tizzy (but there are gun shots and fire-crackers all the time so I think I could get away with it).
I prefer the shotgun since I haven't shot the pistol in a long time and hope I never have to use it. These look like dumb kids doing stupid shit like I did when I was a kid (except I NEVER brought a gun to the party) and would hate to have to use it plus given the optics who knows what would happen to a homeowner who shoots a black intruder these days
Here's the Dirty Harry gun, its heavy and huge. I don't like it and want to get a smaller Glock. The guys at the gun store were salivating over this thing:
