One can only hope.

Dak made great strides this year, but he's still way too inaccurate with stuff going across the field.

Slants, drags, deep-ins, posts, etc.

If he throws it 10 times, even when it's completed, it's gonna be behind the receiver 7 or 8 times.

You can't take a guy with bad accuracy and turn him into Aikman no matter how much you with on his mechanics, but seeing at how much better Dak's accuracy got at he down the field stuff gives me hope that he can't improve on the across the field stuff as well.

If this continues, they are going to regret the Eliott contract real soon.

I'm bracing myself for a "Dak will need shoulder surgery" story. That would be consistent with our sterling medical staff.

my idea is just to highlight the new names as time goes. Instead of having to dig through a thread to follow the hires as they come.
I can update the first page of the thread with the new names as they come in.

Gotta hope that in all the study and analytical work he did not only brought to his attention any stale or repetitive tendencies but also the mistake of not running enough at times.

Green Bay has not had a legit RB since Ahman Green so I'm hoping that having by far the best RB at his disposal as a HC will motivate him to run it more than his history has shown.

I hope he can get Jaylon to start playing like Damario.
The first thing I'd discuss with that guy was his lack of effort.

Even the best players can have a down year but there is no excuse for a lack of effort, and there were far too many instances of that guy not even trying.

That cannot happen.

I also changed the name of the thread. New hires are highlighted in blue in the first post. I will keep it updated.

so now we're talking ourselves into Richard and Moore, so long as they're reassigned and can't do any damage :lol
To me it's not talking myself into anything. I trust McCarthy to retain talent. If he feels like they have a fit on the team I'm okay with it. What I would not be okay with (and would be bitching about ad nauseum) is if these coaches were being kept because of a Jerry edict. That doesn't seem to be the case this time.

I really hope McCarthy starts off his press conference talking about stacking processes on processes.
If he comes out and says , "How we doing, guys?" I might lose my shit.

Or even better goes "How's it goin', guys?" and flashes a shit-eating grin.
I will not consider this a timestamp because you got the quote wrong.

If you haven't read the Mike Nolan being hired as DC thread, you might want to re-read this thread. I merged the two threads to keep all of the coaching hires and conversation about them in one place since they all interconnect. All future hires, just post in here if you would please.

What?

So 9 playoff appearances in 10 seasons, 8 playoff wins, 4 NFCC appearances, and 1 Super Bowl win is "barely ahead" of a guy who NEVER made the playoff in consecutive seasons in 9 years, never made it to an NFCC, and only accumulated 2 playoff wins in a measly 3 appearances?

I don't think this guy is some genius or a guy who guarantees that we're gonna start reeling off the SB wins, but to suggest in any way that this guy is a slight improvement to Garrett is just preposterous.
Yeah, let's get real here. This is not an underwhelming hire. I'd have preferred a college guy, but McCarthy has a great pedigree.

As far as I can tell Nolan has always had a massive DT or two plugging the middle in his defenses. Guys like Aubrayo Franklin, Isaac Sopoaga, Paul Soliai, and even now with the Saints where he is just the LB coach they have a plugger like Malcom Brown.

Long story short, I'd be shocked if we didn't bring in a run-plugging DT via FA or the draft.
That would be some fresh fucking air

I really want to see who McCarthy identifies for special teams.

His ST groups in Green Bay were horrific.
