He is a vet. I'm sure he knows the scheme too. If he's being handed a job, obviously I have a big problem with that, so I'd agree with you. But if we see Jason Witten for more than like 4 plays I'd be shocked. Longer term guys just don't need the reps from this game.

This game is about guys who need the work, mostly young guys.

Supposedly we are even holding out Will Allen. Jesus, that dude should at least feel like he has to compete for his job. I understand holding out certain vets but guys who probably don't even belong starting in this league should be forced to try and earn their jobs.

I wouldn't necessarily assume Allen's job is safe.

Maybe they feel like they've seen enough of him over the years and they want to take an extended look at the other guys to see if someone is worth keeping over Allen.
