Is that any different than hijacking threads bitching about any other issue over the years?

There usually is a bitch theme per offseason.

Most of the time it was Jerry, never saw you get offended and talk about how disruptive it was.
OOH BURN.

It's human nature to pine for what you no longer have and look back at it with ignoring the reality. Sure Murray was a good back that gained a lot of yards. But there were flaws that no one seems to remember:

His blocking deficiencies documented here:
http://www.bloggingtheboys.com/2015/1/17/7570793/why-we-should-let-murray-go-part-1

His lack of vision documented here:
http://cover32.com/cowboys/2013/09/19/week-2-all-22-tape-review/

And his fumble issues that everyone talks about (which I think were overblown). But to be fair, if he doesn't fumble (although a great play by Peppers), then the Dez catch/no catch may not have been an issue.

I just don't see the "huge hole" that many people like to point out.

You people are a bunch of damn crybabies. I merged a bunch of threads spread out all over our main forum that all had the same argument going on in them and all of a sudden we are the Zone. :lol

I think it is funny that many people were in favor of letting Murray walk because it isn't wise to pay a big second contract to a RB coming off a career year where he had a huge workload but now are crying "RB is going to doom this team next year!". Why exactly? Because they didn't take Jay Ajayi or some other mid-round RB? Because a rookie that wasn't one of the top few RBs in the draft was for sure going to come in and completely stabilize the position?

Listen, I'm very dubious of their apparent faith in Darren McFadden but a) though risky but I think one way or another they could probably do OK with the group that they have (I just think it would be entirely unnecessary and pretty foolish to take that risk) 2) I still think they are going to acquire another RB via trade/free agency and d) I don't think the addition that they I feel they inevitably make needs to be an All-Pro to give a nice boost to the position.

If the Cowboys come up short this season I strongly suspect that RB will not be the main reason.

Felix Jones averaged 8.9 YPC on 30 carries and 5.9 YPC on 116 carries.

We all know how that turned out.

Banking on Randle to be better than that is not wise.

Unfortunately it's what we're left with. That, or hoping McFadden pulls a Charles White/Garrison Hearst turnaround.
Exactly.

We can cross our fingers and hope for the best but the evidence and precedents are not good.

Funny you mention Charles White. The Rams stayed a great running team with two first round busts at RB (White and Greg Bell) after trading Eric Dickerson to the Colts.

Maybe the fact that two different backs led the league in rushing for the same team, and a third back led the league in rushing touchdowns the following two years, had something to do with the Rams' offensive line?

The Rams offensive line had pro bowlers at C, G, and T all of those years (86-89).

Dallas Cowboys beat writer Brandon George hosted a chat Tuesday to talk all things football. Here are some of the highlights:

Question: Will the Cowboys go with a committee at RB or will a guy step up and be the work horse?

George: I would think early on they'll give both McFadden and Randle a chance to be the lead back and see who emerges. The Cowboys would rather have a back get more of the carries, and we'll see who steps up from those two.

Question: Third and 2 on our 35. Two minutes left, up three points. Who gets the carry?

George: Right now, I'd have to say Joseph Randle. But that could change a lot by kickoff of the first game.

Question: What do you expect will happen with the running back situation?

George: The Cowboys have their eyes on a few veteran RBs, but they want to give their current four a shot first to emerge as the frontrunner in the backfield. They believe McFadden can rejuvenate his career with the Cowboys. But he's going to have to stay healthy. We'll see how much he has left soon. Joseph Randle will get his opportunity as well. It's basically wait and see for these guys and if they don't like what they see they could try to add a veteran down the road.

Question: I know Darren McFadden has had injuries, but Cowboys o-line is much better than the Raiders. If healthy, I’m thinking 1,500 yards for him is not impossible. What do you think?

George: That's a pretty lofty goal for a player who has only had one 1,000-yard season in his career. I believe the Cowboys will be more balanced in their workload at RB with McFadden and Randle that would make it difficult for one of them to reach that kind of number.

Question: Neither Randle nor certainly McFadden seem capable of getting the "dirty yards.” I'd say our short-yardage back is not yet on the roster. Agree?

George: Maybe. But the Cowboys didn't really give another back that opportunity a year ago. That was the job of DeMarco Murray and he did it very well. Let's see how it shakes out first.

What does that have to do with anything pertaining to people saying Murray was done which was the point of the debate.

Do you really not understand that or you just like bringing me up in random post?
